Blue Streak Organic Hydro Grow

Hey folks! I though it might be a good opportunity to talk about my setup since I've never posted a grow log before.

I'm using a plastic cab I bought from hell, err, walmart. I painted the inside gloss white and hooked up 2 32 watt CFL area lights from the same place. It's still a work in progress, as there is yet no ventilation and I want to add either another CFL, or maybe a LED. I'm using a Bubbleponics setup (drip combined with DWC), with Iguana Juice Grow and Bloom Solutions. (See pics)

I just started 5 Blue Streak (apparently some new MDanzig/Joint Doctor co-op effort. Anyways, they're 100% stabilized AF with all the goodness of DJ Short Blueberry) and 2 random seeds from the Joint Doctors Dwarf Mix (Could be Lowryder, Lowryder #2, Diesel Ryder, or Purple Ryder.. or more likely a bastard child of all 4)

I started one more than I had room for, just in case. Don't worry though, it won't go homeless.

i didnt have the best of runs with the blue streak... i dont think they do well out doors i think with your indoor system you should yirld a lot better than what i did

I've got one outdoors right now, but she's nothing like the lady I posted. The dwarf mixes seem to like sunlight though.

Last night I checked on the seeds and nothin, woke up this morning though and all but 2 of the BS poked through. I went ahead and put the two dwarf mixes in the system, and if the 5th bs seed pops i'll just put her in a pot with the 400w HPS.

I'll take some pics when there's something to show.

Day 8. The front center seedling finally opened yesterday. Added 4 drops of Superthrive and 8 drops of Iguana Juice. Temps are staying around 80, and humidity is around 35.

One Month from seed update.

The males showed about 4 days ago, so I removed them. Now I have 2 Blue streak females down the center, and two Joint Doctor Dwarf Mix females on the bottom corners.

I've been using Iguana Juice at 75% strength for 2 weeks.

An intake fan has been added that is pumping roughly 50cfm into the grow space.

5 days later. It's almost like they figured out they were driving with the e-brake on, and now they are going full throttle.

Great job man!! will be watching this one very closely, I love AF hydro grows, will do a 12 plant DWC soon myself. Love the organic approach, keep this one updated.

A legitimate concern. I figure if they get too bushy I'm going to have no choice but to bend them over a little. The bottom right is reaching over & tickling a leaf on the bottom-mid already... so.... :/

hi dinix i have just completed a grow of blueryder[bluestreek] with mixed results i set ten away seven fems which to of them later hermied which left five fems with the tallest finishing at 38inches smallest 24inches three of them grew fine other two grew very strange and produced little quality bud the others grew very well and produced about 1.5 oz of bud each.i chopped one at 61days and others at 65 days it is a very nice smoke. but you can tell these arnt fully stable yet.they started very slow then around 4th wk they exploded and grew as if they wre on steroids i used advanced nuits connisour big bud overdrive and voodoo juice i flushed with final phase for ten days in dwc good luck with your grow man

thanks pop. It sounds like you got an experimental batch. What I ordered is the first 100% stabilized batch (at least I think it's the first). I grew one in soil that is going to be cut in a couple of days that was a perfect 18" tall with one main cola and very little branching. The only problem with it is that in a 2 1/2 gallon pot she still acted root-bound, so I might have a smaller yield. With the hydro system though, I'll be able to provide all the root space they'll need.

Weekly Report

I had to bend the big one over 4 days ago. She's responding well.

I'm now on full Bloom Iguana Juice Nutes, 85-90% strength.

I just washed the tub and fully replaced the water like 10 minutes ago. (and I turned the kids around 180)



This is the one I had to bend over. It is a dwarf mix, not a blue streak.


I really like the branching. I seeded her with a fast flowering male, so after playing with the F1's I might get an Autoflower that will respond well to topping. but that's for a future thread.

Blue Streak Organic Hydro Final Report

I cut the two Dwarf mixes on June 22. They Dried for 5 Days and were then transported to mason jars. I sampled them 3 days later. They were pretty nice, but this report isn't about dwarf mixes. They've been put away for a long cure for now. This is what they looked like:



On June 27th I chopped the Blue Streaks. That's a day away from 12 weeks from seed.



They dried till July 2, and were put in mason jars. This is the first taste of it I will have. The larger plant is that in question. The smaller one is being saved for something special.

Visual: The bud is a bit airy. especially on the lower branches. The color is a very pale green to almost blue-green with a fine glisten of crystals. Weight for the whole plant was only 5.5 grams.

Smell: Even though I flushed for 2 weeks this plant is still holding a heavy ammonia smell. Past that I can smell a very pungent, hard to describe smell kind of like "high pitched pine smell". Not very berry like compared to the other blue streaks I've grown.

Taste: I will be using Oz, a simple yet effective slide bong. He was recently cleaned of course, and filled with extremely cold filtered water.


Here we go... Still kinda green, but VERY pungent. The smoke is a bit heavy and harsh but with little expansion. Smooth exhale for the most part, but leaves my nasal cavity tingly... toke 2: Again, not as berry-like as the others I've grown, but the taste is unique. More industrial... chemical... kerosene like. Tokes 3&4: It's taking on the taste of a burned up bong, but the kerosene nuance is still there. Toke 5: Kicked it. It was surprisingly smooth up to the end. It was even sweet tasting. The tingling in the nose got worse, and made me sneeze though. The ash is a pretty white color still in the shape of a plant. Kinda cool really.

The buzz: F***IN FAST! I was 'kinda' high after the first hit, but finishing the bowl became a labor by hit 3. It is very heady and spacey. Thoughts come slow, but in a lot's of detail. Body high is kinda there, but from my eyes up is where it's at. I'm very comforted by this buzz, and it makes me think of sunny fields for some reason...

Conclusion: Good Strain, and good breeders. With only 120ish CFL watts on 24hours the one bluestreak was able to produce a very potent bud. The other, I dunno what happened. It seems like every time I grow autoflowers I end up with one that lollypops. It will still give a great buzz though, I'm sure.

On a side note, I'm freakin DONE with hydro. I smoke WAY too much pot to deal with the kind of overhead running a hydro system requires. It stressed me the hell out. It also leaked like hell a couple of times. I'm going back to plain 'ol poop and perlite.

Try it again with mediumless DWC and good old chem nutes. I guarantee you will have 300% better results.
