BLUE PEARL-new strain grow-new problems

Blue Pearl-new strain, New problem
I just started growing this new strain from Homegrown Fantaseeds...

having major problems already...

It looks like Boron Def but Im not sure..Just looking for some guidance from you guys...my fellow OG'ers

Hydro set up...ph is normal
Switched to plain water to try and clear it up

If it's a deficiency, why stop all feeding?

Curious about what water quality you have?

What system and what nutes?

My water is kinda hard around 8.1 normally...

I thought I would give it a day or two of just plain water and then go back to nutes

The spots are ONLY on the bottom leaves

Im using a NFT/Tube type of hybrid system...check my pics for past grows to get a better idea
I use General Hydroponics products for nutes in the system

Nice looking system. So if you've never had this problem before using the same system and same water...it could be related to this strain.

Now when you say your water is 8.1...that's the ph? From my experience, that would put you somewhere around 350ppm in dissolved solids. Very rough guess. Ever thought to upgrade your water supply? 50/50 mix with bottled water or something like that. Water is everything with hydro...

Both an excess or a deficiency of Ca can cause brown spots like that. I looked up boron deficiency and it didn't seem to fit the picture so Ca is more likely. Hopefully more help will arrive...

my Water is actually 5.6 when I have it in with the plants in the system...straight from the tap its around 7 to 8ph level

I think everything is ok now with the plants...new water..new nutes... they are looking happy again!
