Sunnyside gifted me with 2 beautiful buds ( A and B ) of Blue Moonshine for a smoke report. One was flushed normally and one was treated with Clearex. Beautiful frosty dense well cured buds with a blueish tinge.
First bud A. On breaking off a bit, the aroma is spicy with strong cinnamon overtones and a hint of berry. The few blueberry strains I have smoked smell more like grape than berry to me, but this bud definitely smelled of berry. I'd definitely like to eat a morning danish that smelled this good!
Drop some in the vaporizer, take a hit, delicious. The same flavors that I noticed in the aroma are strongly there on the inhale, on the exhale more of the same, plus a surprise. Lavender! Never smoked a bud that tasted of lavender before. What a nice mix of flavors. Moderate expansion - if I take a full breath hit can hold it in, but it takes a bit of effort.
The high is wonderfully complex. Initially both mentally and physically energizing, very nice for nature walks. After a couple of hours the high mellows and mind and body unwind and relax, right into snooze land!
Ok - that's bud A. How about bud B? How about a repeat of bud A! With one exception. Expansion was much less, hardly noticeable. The aroma was just as strong, but the taste was a little less strong. I don't know if I'd notice the difference unless I could compare them in the same sitting.
Based on this my guess is bud B was the clearex bud. Both buds are proof of a grower who has his flush schedule fine tuned.
Sunnyside, thanks for the opportunity to report on some of your work! Wonderfully tasty and superior buzz!
