Blue Dream Trainwreck LED Tent Grow

Spring Run - Still dialing in my setup, this is my third official cycle. Last run I didn't veg my poor BOG Sour LSDs long enough and got moldy buds as a result. The tops grew right into each other for six weeks and made a nice mold sandwich. I deserved it.

This time around I've already vegged these babies 8+ weeks and we're on the verge of flipping to 12/12.

The Victims: (1) Blue Dream and (1) Trainwreck (HSO)
The Space: Secret Jardin DR-90 (3x3)
The Lights: LED (Combo of Growblu 180 + Penetrator Pro 84x) + vertical T5
The Manipulation: Multiple topping and supercropping has occurred already. This was my first round with supercropping - LST was a real pain in the ass.
The Medium: Soil Mix (Promix + EWC + Mushroom Compost) in 2 gallon pots
The Nutrients: Liquid Fish Fertilizer with FF line on standby.
The bank: I took seven clones that are starting to root in a $10 aero cloner.

The genetics are questionable, but I'm here for quality headstash, not rep. I suppose I'm curious about the characteristics of my blue dream and trainwreck versus the standard, but if they do what I need them to, let the flamers flame. I'll be in the back medicating.

I recently dialed the tent back from 24/0 to 20/4 and will wean down to 12/12 over the next few days.

I hope you'll follow, advise, comment and enjoy. In the meantime, kick back and smoke one for me - I'm on an employment-forced sabbatical from smoking. Good thing it's GROWING that I'm really hooked on.

And finally, a tent pic to get this started:

Some autos started there on the left just to fill the tent.

Very nice structure on those ladies.

Great start!

I was going to ask about the mold as I read this, but "The tops grew right into each other"
does tell the tale. I grew a 32 plant SOG with only a week of Veg but my breeds were just
suited to it as it went very well.

I look forward to good things here.

Thanks JD, been looking through your grows this weekend, looks like we have some similarities. I'm hoping for a full tent of the blue dream clones like your AKs from last winter.

I never let previous plants veg long enough to get this thick:

It looks like my clones are starting to show a few microscopic roots and bumps. The rooting I am getting is from the sides however, not the bottom cut. Hope that still means success.

I'll be searching for advice on when to transplant the clones to soil. (???)

In the meantime, just noticed this auto in the back of the tent has a bit of the ducksfoot trait.

Flipping the tent to 12/12 in the next few days.

Well, I am only a few grows in, but I have not planted a clone
until I saw roots coming out of the peat puck.

This is nice to see:

Good luck,

Good luck on this run dude. Did you make any changes to combat the mold issues?

Actually, yes. Added a dehumidifier to the room outside the tent. It's pulling 2-3 gallons a day...has to make a difference, right?

Still think it was a veg/structure issue with the LSDs- no air flow between the top buds as they grew right into each other.

Thanks for following, love the logo.

Flowering Day Two

Flowering Day Two

I'm not mentally prepared for any stretch, so I'm surprised when I open the tent and notice and extra 1.5" of growth since last night. These are my first bushes!

The Samsara auto freebie, guess I'll call it Day 14.

I fucking hate cloning. Barely any rootage coming out of the bottom, just added a heater to hopefully make this work.

Nice run so far I too am running HSO Blue Dream,Trainwreck, also got couple bubba's in there. But thing i see is you have the shorter BD pheno which seems to stack better produce larger buds then the other stretcher pheno i have as well. Both are super frosty and show same smell. Now I am only at day 30 but what I see in the pics you have the shorter of the two so you should be alright height wise. Now I'm sure there are more pheno's but I have a perfect twin to your's.

Day five

Day five

Trimmed out all the small flowers hiding below the canopy of the blue dream tonight. Hopefully she's not too pissed I made 15 or so cuts. Everybody here said trim out the popcorn now and I'll be happy later. Hope you're right.

Don't use sponges to hold your clones - they get $@!;$ moldy. I had my fit and dropped some new clones in soil. Nuff said.

Flower Day 11

Woke up earlier this week to find 5 cm of water in the bottom of the tent! Of course both the girls and power supply had been stupidly placed on the floor. Somehow nothing shorted out, and we're dry again without any apparent harm. Another lesson learned.

Summer camp is officially over, and the tent is put away!

To recap, I ran some HSO (Humboldt Seed Organisation) freebies I had sitting around, alongside a Samsara Bloody Mary.

The Blue Dream was the clear producer, filling two quart ball jars (I don't weigh). I took this one at 60 days due to trich colors - about 10% amber.

Curing at 58% stable

Hung to dry

The trainwreck stalled on me after around day 35 - just never filled out. Less yield, but despite whatever growth issue it had, produced some sticky, super-spicy smelling hard buds. Took at day 67 with 20% amber trichs.

All in all a good run, including an awesome Samsara Thunder Bloody Mary that I just ran as a bonus. It turned out to be the best looking plant of the bunch. Swapped out the 84x penetrator for an older 345w, upping the light quite a bit. I think, though, that it affected penetration and led to the stunted flower growth on the trainwreck.

Thunder Bloody Mary

Ran this Samsara Thunder Bloody Mary in the tent to fill the space. It's an auto, though I ran it at 12/12 the majority of the time. Turned out to be a sweet specimen.

Ironically, I'm on a forced smoking hiatus and can't sample any of these.

You think swapping the light impacted the train wreck? You would think half way through the grow, the plants would appreciate an increase. Interesting.

Nice work!

I wish my auto finished half that big! :D

Switched from the newer 84x penetrator pro with 60 degree lenses to the old 300w with 90 degree lenses. Just a theory at this point. Also running a growblu and some supplemental vertical T5.

The Trainwreck also had leaves yellowing, rotting and falling off at the slightest touch as it aged. *Something* isn't dialed in for me yet, just haven't figured out what.

Thanks for stopping by, this can be a lonely hobby.

Samsara Thunder Bloody Mary

This was the stickiest, hardest, trich-iest pull from the entire group... And it was just an auto I ran on the side under 12/12 from seed.

Smells *crazy* like blueberry poptarts.
