went to feed young plants in veg this AM,
lite feed w/2-1/2 gallons of water using:
1 tsp silica
4 tsp liquid karma
3 tsp GH micro
looked at the PPM's and I'm at a whopping 1450 on the PPM scale.
cleaned the prob w/soft scrub,
battery lo indicator isn't on and I'm still pushing he same numbers?
switched over to ec and it was @ 0.0
hit the button once and it @1.2.....:chin:
turned off then on
and back to PPM and its pushing 110ppm... its in clean water and my tap should be 80ish PPM's
hit the button once and its back @1450
on start up hits750 :shucks:

seems to be stuck in a rut

You might try pulling the battery out and letting it sit for a couple of minutes. A fresh start on life might help.

I gave that a try after posting,
but only out for about 10 seconds
I'll give it another try

EDITED,,,
went back to take out the batteries and it was still on,
it goes off after a few minutes of non use.

also it hasn't been dropped or soaked recently or before

Get some EC calibrating solution. Better yet take it to a authorized dealer and have them calibrate it for you. If they can't get it to work they should swap out on the spot w a receipt and original box. They did for me:)

well I finally called up the support number in NZ and spoke with a tech.
these guys absolutely rock in the cust.service dept!
after discussing the prob and with no reciept he was willing to to send me a replacement gratis and then I'd send mine to them when i received the new 1 :)

but we hit a snag, when i gave him the serial# it was dated 2005 which threw it way out of the warranty window, i bought it online and if i can get the receipt he will still go ahead with the replacement, i doubt i'll find or get another reciept.
which brings me to the Q of how did the seller sell me such an old stock item :chin:
ah well...
so I'll have the Ph side still working and I'll just get a EC truncheon...
it'll be a bluelab

You're right, those guys are great to deal with.

You might want to check out the EC/PPM pen rather than the Truncheon. I have both, and like the pen better - it has quite a bit higher resolution and seems to be less sensitive to cleaning needs.
