Bloombox

Big Waste of money! Any of the prfabed grow chambers usually are. If you add up the actual cost of what they use it dosen't turn out to be worth the extra money. Just my 2 cents. Build one your self, shoot copy their design and improve upon it. Try searching for NGB style setup. Very similar to the bloom box.

I agree. If you're working on a budget (or you have the time) building is the way to go.

Check out the Mills Pride club for some ideas. Search around for an old cabinet, dresser, wardrobe, etc... Used/free ones are nice.

I took a look at the Bloombox specs and I think you can build something comparable for much less, even if you're not "handy". You don't need their fancy control center anyway.

1. DIY CO2 controller (like the CAP brand one) is just a GE Telaire unit. They're way overpriced if you buy them from a hydro store. Buy an aquarium CO2 reg and solenoid and you just need a filled tank.

2. I'm assuming they have the exhaust vent thermostat tied in with the CO2 injection on a DT relay. If you don't want to make one, Green Air has them for about $200 I have no complaints about mine, but be sure to check the calibration before using it. Mine was almost 5 degrees off when I got it.

3. I'm pretty sure they use a single scrubber for the whole thing, sucking in intake through the veg, across to the flower side and out the scrubber.

I've seen grow tents in use and they work well. To me it seems they're best used to divide a room into multiple areas and not as a mom/flower/clone box.

If you're going for small and stealthy, a piece of furniture like a wardrobe is not out of place. It's probably going to be stronger than a tent and easier to customize and divide into several sections. It's usually cheaper and sometimes free.

grow tents like the home box are very good purchases.

my homebox xl (120x120x200cm) cost about 200euro w/carbon filter I think. (I paid 500euro for mine 3years ago, and it came with a compact resinmolded 600hps/mh maxibright, adjust-a-wing medium. 125rvk (smallest one) and a 225m3 carbon can filter.

It's very convenient for a rented apartment where you cannot modify much, and it takes only half an hour rigging it up or down. (Tent weigh only 10-20kg and can be carried over the shoulder with straps around the box)

RVK fan can be placed right on top of extraction vent and vacuum will seal it tight to the ducting. The tent itself and framework absorbs fans vibrations and it runs smooth and quiet even at high rotation.

My tent also have double bottom where the inner waterproof lining can be removed and rinsed easily. It could be used for simple bottom watering, but I wouldn't keep it filled for a long time. Although it's been holding water for at least 15hrs at my place and still was all dry underneath.

A few light beams will leak out, but unless the box is kept in strongly lit environment you'll not have leaks going in to the canopy.

I would of course build my own room if I could do it atm (and I have made a few cupboard/boxes before, so my present veg area is in an old ikea wardrobe.

I too looked at the bloombox, but it was way too much money. I think they are $2700 or something like that. Plus there are not very conspicuous. Build your own its much more rewarding and you can save a bunch of cash.

Like was said above, check out the mills pride club, and the micro grows, and 150w and 250w clubs and you should get some great ideas.

yeah man , i gotta knock all these guys selling their wares at these bloated prices thinking they "know" the market they are selling to. if they knew us so well, they would be a quarter of what they are normally sold for. :headbange
