Bleached plant, thought I knew what was wrong....

I think the soil might have been to hot for the seedlings. One however started, and remains worse than the others.

It looks almost bleached on the top, I thought it was an Iron or Sulfur deficiency. My thoughts according to reading the complete guide.....

So I gave it a few days, gave it some epsom salts, no improvement. Gave it 3 more days, gave it MG 18-18-18, no improvement. I dont remember if I gave it more epsom salt at this point, but regardless no improvement! WTF :cuss:

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks alot!

Oh yea, so as not to be yelled at:
Grown in Gardner's Gold Organic Soil (some nutes? some seedlings like it alot, some hate it)
Under 2 daylight CFLs and 2 floro tubes.
Watered a bunch, given fish emulsion and MG 18-18-18 both dilluted (1/4 strength at most).
Planted on 2/12, so around Day 24. Just recently switched from 24/0 to 20/4
looks about the same now, maybe a little bigger but not healthier. Will try to throw a pic up soon

Way too much food starting from any hot soil for seedlings if it has nutes. They'll grow themselves if you don't over water & feed them only when they're large enough. They're nowhere close I'd also get them in a cup something deeper. Don't let them dry out completely but they shouldn't need watering more than every 4-5 days in good conditions. You can give them a light mist at that age once a day for the first couple weeks.

So now either flush that soil very well or transplant into fresh soil shaking off any soil & give the new soil a good watering & leave it alone until it's thirsty. Check the label on the soil & look up what ingredients have food in them.

It's a sulfur deficiency, but in this case it's a lockout, being caused by your soil being too hot, I would flush the soil with around 1 1/2 gallons of water......
The damaged leaves won't recover; you should use seed starter mixture to deal with seedlings and after 2 weeks of age or 4 sets of leaves you can plant them into the mixture you have now.

CFL's do not cause bleaching, but cause the leaves to burn to a crisp if left too close for too long or grow into them.

the lockout problem never occurred to me.

Stitch, what you said about the starter mix...it actually did cross my mind, because my first 2 grows seemed to love the soil, but my third one didnt, as well as my current one. I looked for basic seedling starter mix but didn't really find anything to appealing. There was one thing, seemed like it was mostly like mulch, I dont really remember. I guess I'll go for the flush option, I thought of it beforehand but I figured since it was only a solo cup it wouldn't require a whole lot of water.

Will report back in a day or 2, once it gets around to being flushed. Just flushed a near-done plant today so my de-chlorinated water is at a low supply at the moment.

I am not sure if the coloration will return, I doubt it.... so when the newer growth returns you want to make sure the color turns green. It will end up being lighter when it grows out which is normal, but if it yellows it is not.

When you flush the plant, you will end up flushing out excess and also nutrients the plant needs so you will need to feed soon after the flush, even if it's 1/4 of a teaspoon per gallon of water.

Does the MG 18-18-18 have sulfur in it? Which mg product is it?
I used to use there stuff, if used correctly it works well.

Ok, well I flushed 2 of them today. The other 2 didnt look as effected. Will try to get some pics up of today and maybe more in a few days.

There is sulphur in epsom salt. You also probably have incorrect ph. You need to keep your ph adjusted properly, are you doing that?

You can't feed something as strong as that MG to a plant that small, under CFLs. Do yourself a favour and get some quality ferts for cannabis, plus some calmag, and you'll be laughing. Just use the fish at quarter strength until you can get a good grow and bloom combo. I use BioBizz. Fish ferts are acidic, so you need to be on top of your ph every watering.
