Blarder?

serial stealth edible maker here. From tinctures (first attempt was a waste and failure) to oils to chocolate bars... certainly no expert but I do enjoy it.

Question: since fat is the solvent of choice for transferring thc to the body via ingestion, most people recommend butter, clarified butter (ghee), coconut oil and then various other oils.

One thing I've never seen mentioned is lard. Is there any reason why people aren't using lard? I mean, it's high in saturated fats and just as versatile as butter/coconut oil, it solidifies as it cools etc.

So why don't people use lard to make cannalard, blarder or whatever?

Hey, major props for your recipe. I have successfully adapted and used it before, so thank you.

I guess I was just curious about lard, is all. It has a lot of uses outside of frying and is used in a lot of sweets and breads/biscuits as well. It seems like one of those ingredients that everyone has and fits all the criteria: lots of saturated fat, high fat content etc.

I'm no expert, but would lard really be that much unhealthier than butter? Not trying to be cheeky or anything, like I said, I'm just interested in what people do/think about this.

CottonMouth Biscuits with Sausage Garvey, I love It...!

I'm no Health Expert but Lard has less taste/uses and is not as Health as Ghee that has the Animal Solids Removed...

That said it probably works as good or better then Butter if you can take it in your diet...

I bet it'd work great. Especially for frying or grilling and whatever kind of sweets you mentioned. I think most people just don't use recipes calling for lard or where theyd want to substitute it.
