Blackberry vs SomaBlazes Blackberry

Can anyone compare & contrast "regular" Blackberry vs SomaBlazes Blackberry?

I assume by "regular blackberry" you mean the one thats floating around cali med dispensaries which I believe is Sensi's Black Domina crossed with a blueberry. SomaBlazes(RIP) Blackberry was a lucky bagseed find, the end result is a plant with very colorful crimson red flowers & a delicious sweet floral aroma/flavor. I've smoked em both(well actually Memy's blackberry Bx which used SomaBlazes cut) & I prefer the blackberry from the clubs for raw potency/effect but SomaBlazes BB has the look, smell and taste that has made blackberry imfamous, its just too bad the potency is almost non exsistant.

Thanks for the response. I actually was under the impression that the more generic Blackberry was from VISC a cross of "Original Green" x "The Black". I have what I think is the VISC version now and it has a beautiful growth habit. It's potency is middle of the road. I also have 2 G-Berry ( G-13x SomaBlazes Blackberry) babies going from Memy. Hopefully the G-13 side of G-Berry will bring some potency.

There are a few different ones going around apparently. The one I am refering too was popular a few years back in the med clubs in the bay area. I've never even heard of Original Green or The Black but as long as you are happy with the flowers who cares what its called.

The 3rd floor blackberry was indeed black domina x blueberry...

I've grown it twice, its nice but there are better cuts to grow.

i hate floral taste myself. i rather go for a berries, lemons and mango. i had some taste like floral with a grow and i didn't like the exhale to much. good avg weed though i'm sure they crosser has plans up their sleeve.

Somasblazes was the bud that started the craze... it was sureal.. looked photoshop'd but it wasnt... think it was posted on OG abourd 99-00

it was not blackberry, it was a strain giving to me by a name that will not be disclosed. it went 60 days but it could have gone 70, which i did in the secound run. i liked the high at 60 though just didn't like the berry/floral taste.... i will say the berry had a good taste to it though, the floral taste just killed it for me.

Blackberry looks decent from a distant....Up close it lacks trichomes and smell ....Blackberry is probably one of the most overhyped strains on the boards, because of it's color...The taste was decent and the color was great it ends there....I had the Bx1's of the Blackberry and sent a sample to a buddy who had tried the original and he said it was spot on the same smoke.....

There are a couple pics of memy's blackberry in my galleria. I let someone sample it and he thought the potency was pretty good saying his lips and jaw were numb after smoking it.


Here is memy's GBerry. The potency was also very good with them!

I have to disagree on the potency issue. At least the GberryP that I got is delicious, purple and knock-down potent. Puts me to sleep every time.



I got a nice green pheno out of the bunch too, will be smoking her for the first time this weekend.

My only complaint was these were a bitch to germ, but I got very lucky with the ones that made it. Everything else I got from Memy was a vigorous delight.

I wasn't commenting on Gberry, the original blackberry and bx is what i was refering to, most everyone who has grown or smoked them will tell you the same(lacks potency). I'm sure the Gberry is strong, why do you think Memy used the G13, adds a much needed punch:wink:

I would put good mexican bag seed in the same category possible even stronger depending on the pheno then Blackberry, but to each his own....The Gberry I think Memy used was Airbourne G13 or Pacific's G13 which both I hear are pretty potent, so that would make since...

Thanks for all the input. I'm especially glad to get some feedback about G-Berry since I have two of thos babies going now.

I also have a "club" version of Blackberry. It is very grower friendly, yields & looks nice but I agree isn't uber potent. It does seem to work on headaches extra well though. I will be crossing that Club version with an Ortega I'm going to flip sex by using STS. The oretga should kick up the potency a notch

I think the ony person to give me a direct comparison of SomaBazes Blackberry vs "club" Blackberry was Dr. Know. If I read correctly he favored the club version for pure potency. Any other direct comparisons?
