Thanks to these foolish teanagers, we all will look bad with our smoke of choice. I feel like cursing up a storm.

WATAUGA, Texas (CNN) -- Police in suburban Fort Worth, Texas, said a videotape found in a search for stolen goods appears to show two teenagers persuading a 2-year-old boy and his 5-year-old brother to smoke marijuana.

Third-degree felony charges have been filed against the teenagers.

"I have never seen anything like this quite so disturbing," said Bruce Ure, director of public safety for the Watauga Police Department. "Our children count on us to protect them; these individuals did everything but protect these children." (Watch kids puff on apparent joint as teens laugh Video)

The incident began unfolding February 22, when the Fort Worth Police Department executed a search warrant to look for stolen goods in the apartment of 17-year-old Demetris McCoy, the unemployed uncle of the two children, and 18-year-old Vanswan Polty, Ure said.

Among the items recovered was camera equipment, Ure said. Upon looking at one of the tapes, investigators came across "a session where these two males were providing marijuana" to the youngsters, he said. "They were essentially trying to get them high, laughing. The children are stumbling, falling around."

Ure said it appeared that the videotaped scene was not the boys' first such session.

The 2-year-old was holding what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette "like he's done it before," Ure said. "He's inhaling."

The boys' mother, McCoy's sister, has told police she was sleeping in the back bedroom during the incident. She has not been charged, Ure said.

Nor has another minor, who served as the cameraman, Ure said.

In the video, a man puts a cigarette into the toddler's mouth. The other boy is seen smoking without prompting.

The children have been in the custody of Child Protective Services, Ure said.

Child offendors (people who assault children) deserve nothing; fuckin punks wouldn't pull that shit on someone their own age. Unfortunately, it is easily construed as being because of mj rather than 2 individuals who chose to abuse children and a drug at the same time.

This kinda shit makes you wanna show 'em what abusing a person is all about. Hope they get "bitched" in juv. or wherever they end up. Fuckin sissy bitches.

I totally agree that this shouldn't of happened and those guys should be put in jail. But I wouldn't consider it a "black eye" on cannabis, as an incident such as this should be more focused on the actions taken, rather then the substance used. It could have easily been alcohol, pills, meth, whatever, but atleast it wasn't something more harmful.

They don't even belong in jail.

Cannabis was used as OTC medicine for children as late as the 1930s.

I saw a special on TV with this 7 year old kid who had ADD, none of the drugs worked, but Cannabis made him happy and balanced.

Giving your child aspirin is more dangerous than giving him a puff of herb.

Now these kids will go into foster care over nothing, and have some pervert stick his finger up their assholes and everyone can be happy I guess.

Child Protective Services has ruined thousands of children's lives over petty BS.

TT,
On one hand; what you say may be the fact but never-the-less, they are adults who chose to assault 2 children. Yes, it is and should be assault to force anyone to ingest anything. We're not talking about retarded kids who need their medication. We're talking about 2 children who (I assume) are healthy, normal children who were made to ingest a intoxicant without the 1)knowledge, 2) consent of mother, 3)any supervision from a qualified physician. There is a reason that "we" are supervised in regard to sedating and medicating children and thats because "we" tend to over-medicate annoying kids. I know this touches into legally prescribed meds for kids but thats not where I meant to take it. BTW, I am mostly against it legally as well.

The black eye will be made by the many Anti-Drug groups. No matter that there are worst things being done to kids. In their minds this incident will be used to further their Anti legalization propaganda.

they were black (at least in the video i watched), but that doesn't matter...

would this be such a big deal in the media if they were being fed booze?

still, really really horrible. poor kids...

some people just belong in jail

TT- has some very good points and I pretty much completely agree with his or her perspective however I think its the negative press that really hurts the legalization movement and not the actual situation that occured... as we can see in this thread forcing children to smoke herb isnt socially acceptable and can be used as ammunition for prohibitionists

Heroin and Opium were regularly used as pain killers up until the 1930's as well, if you had a child and I shot him up full of black tar would you feel the same way? I'm sorry, but it is not OK to forcefully make anyone smoke, let alone small children. I refuse to shrug this off as teenage antics, or even worse as no harm done.

Onto the Child Services bit. You hear a lot about how they screw up, which I do not deny they have done. However the people that work there do have the best interests of the children at heart, and this time I think they have done the right thing by removing them from the home. The parent(s) (sounded like a single mother) should not have left her children around those teenagers. If the kids activities were loud enough to get the authorities attention, and a search warrant the adult living in the home should have known something.

I saw that, that's bullshit. A black eye on cannabis indeed. The younger kids don't deserve to be taken away from their home, but the older kids damn sure deserve to do a little time for their stupidity.
