Black Domina Water Hash (from trim); Drying.

Roughly 1.5 ounces of trim got ran through a homemade extraction system, basically I agitated the dry frozen trim for 10 minutes, filtered through a fine metal screen, then siphoned off the water. It is currently drying, and has not been cured yet, but I tested some of it in its fresh state, and was able to record the buzz which I got from it.

a) Visually, it is a dark amber color; I anticipate it getting much darker upon curing. I may leave it in its loose-crystalline state or compress it/make shoe hash.

b) Smells very similar to the fresh Black Domina plants (in last stages of flowering), more piney however. It has a citrus-like smell to it.

c) Tastes very earthy and fresh. Smoother than I remember the bud being. I know that this taste will most likely change after curing, and I will post a follow up in a week or so of the finished product with pictures.

The buzz was very strong and fast acting. It produced a productive yet very narcotic effect for me. Helped with pain and PTSD symptoms. Made for a day of cleaning.

Decided to invest in bubblebag or similar for future runs, but this worked out good enough for me.

nice hash smoke report mate,

you might want to consider getting the bubbleator or similar. using a washing machine to mix really saves a lot of work and time. i would recommend getting a 220 bag, a 160, a 73 and a 25 bag, that's the least amount you can get away with and still make some top quality extract in your 73 bag, while the 160 will act to filter any crap that got through the 220. while the 25 will collect everything thats not quite up to the 73 bag, but is still full of active ingredients. make lower quality hash with it, or cook it, or even for making topical applications. the advantage of the machine is the hash is in contact with the water for the least possible amount of time, this leaves you with more tasty terps in your end product.

Speaking of more tasty products in your end product how do you think that would translate over to dry ice hash with the same bubble bags vs. the icewater method?

Hey Gaius! Thank's for the advice, I think I will get some type of bag; it was so labor intensive Maguyvering some hash with kitchen utensils (not to mention the cleanup).

Here's the update, got 1.1 grams, good stuff nearly full melt, comparable to the stuff I've gotten from dispensaries. The method of choice I used to compress the hash was putting it in cellophane in my shoe. Good ole' shoe hash lol.

shoe hash lol! Nice work WTFisLoud.
If you want to go a little cheaper than the bubble machine, we had a ghetto way of doing automating the process with bags when I was still in norcal. We got a paddle paint mixer for an electric drill, we then strapped the drill to the central post of a camera tripod we had laying round. We used zip ties to sinch down the trigger to the speed we wanted it to run at, and then plugged it into a timmer. 10-15 minutes on, then 15 off to let the trichs settle through the screens, then on then off again. We'd set it up, leave it for a while to tend to other work onthe property, then come back when it was done to pull the bags.

also, everytime I see you round here, I want to tell you that loud is good weed, man!

Don't pass me no regular, Imma turn it down. all I smoke is loud,

Lol! I think the word "loud" came to the east coast within the last year. The first time I heard it in conversation, it was like an Abott and Costello routine. I think it's the funniest slang to come around. Before that, the only loud weed I had was when I did a horrible job flushing and the chemical fertilizer remnants crackled in the bowl.

"It this loud? *holds bag to ear*"

And good idea Nes, I think that would work much better than the electric egg-beaters, not to mention probably won't get snagged on any stems like an egg-beater would. I think that fits better into my price range than a Bubblebag set too!

the dry ice is so powerful that it flash freezes the product so it becomes brittle. the problem with this is that although it works for farmers hash, it will not make really clean stuff due to the leaves crumbling up and falling through with the resin. it is a fast way, if you are very careful you can manage to get some pretty good quality. it's all about not shaking too long or too hard.

Would green matter still break up and fall through the smaller micron bags? I have the 8 bag setup that I haven't ever used before. I had a 220 bag that I've used this method with but the end product was of course very green and lower end due to the amount of green matter getting through. I was hoping that the smaller mesh sized would sort this out but this isn't the case? In the past I've also processed it one more time after this as well. I've dissolved the keif in either isopropyl alcohol or regular high proof alcohol, chilled the solution in the freezer and then ran that frozen mixture through coffee filters before boiling the alcohol off.

In your opinion Gaius what is the best method for making the best quality/tasting dry ice hash? Just be more careful with the timing and agitation? I don't want to invest any money into more equipment like the water agitator for bubble hash. I'm not as well versed in making extracts.

Don't mean to threadjack here either WTFisLoud, just adding another facet to it rather. Congrats on your hash too bud, pretty cool making something from waste right? I like the hash over weed butter too, edibles always put me downnnnnnn.

When I make dry ice hash i use a long, clean table. a stainless steal one if we can use our buddies kitchen, but our dining room table also works. We create a bit of a lip around the edge to prevent stuff from flying off. Then we start at one side of the table and work out way to the other. The way we do it, you can see when the first hint of green sift starts, bout halfway through the table, and it gets more green towards the end. We usually devide the table's worth of sift into 3 grades based on the color, with the first being very pure, second being decent and the third being cook.
The other thing I like about dryice meathod is, since you are essentially freezedying and pulverizing the trim, your waste product left in the bucket is so finely powdered it is damn near unidentifiable and very easy to dispose of.

also, you dont need the water mixer for bubble, you can use a paddle, spatula or mixing spoon like folks have been doing for a long time now

Did you only use one size bag for the dry ice table method that you speak of? What yields better with dry ice vs. ice&water? What tastes better?

Thanks
