Bigger place Big question

Hey everyone
Sorry its been awhile since my last post but I am now getting ready to move from my 4x4grow tent to a 12x20 roughly. I was talking to a fellow grower about it and he said (were talking about the air exchange in the room) that instead of worrying about putting money in to all bigger exhaust fan and filter just run c02. So my question is if your releasing co2 constantly in to your grow do you need to exchange the air?? I feel you should, let me know what you guys think. Thanks

Hi!

You don't need to exchange the air. This would be considered a "sealed room". You will however need to monitor your CO2 PPM levels to ensure they're not too high. A lot of people control their smell and exchange air through an exit fan and a carbon filter. If you are going to seal your room off (no air exchange, only CO2), you will want to run "scrubbers". This is simply a carbon filter and fan that doesn't remove the air from the room.

Any more questions let me know ;)

On a relevant side note....

A lot of growers also control humidity levels by exiting air. If you pull air out of a room (creating a negative pressure)....you will decrease the humidity.

If your space is sealed, you need to keep an eye on humidity levels going over 65% in flower. If you can't keep it down you'll need a dehumidifier.

Go get em :)

It only lowers humidity if the outdoor RH is lower than your room's. The question is whether it lowers it enough. I wouldn't dare keep my RH at 65% during bloom. I want 50% max. Get a dehumidifier, and keep it below 50%. Good luck. -granger

We recommend at 55-65% RH all through flower. We consistently see the best growth rates in this range. No mildew or mold with proper air flow and SAR inducers. To each their own. Experiment and see what works.

Thanks guys the sealed like a pretty straight forward concept and with coming out of a tent i have smaller fans and carbon filters that now can be put to good use setting up "scrubbers". I tend to like to keep my room(tent) at no more then 50% RH when in bloom but the area in there is so small that im so worried about mold. im excited to do some experimenting with the bugger place
