This grow was underneath a house in a cave.
The entrance was through a secret hydraulic door in the garage that led to a concrete ramp that went about 50 yards into the ground.
Inside the cave was living quarters and a secret escape hatch that led you through a tunnel that exited via another hydraulic door that opened up a rock on the outside.
It was very elaborate.
The set up allowed them to harvest every 60 days which resulted in multi-million dollar sales.
One of the guys busted was living in a house on the water in FL and had a nice yacht.
One of the agents here in Nashville worked on this for 5 years before the warrant was finally served in December."
We have all heard of the 'bat cave'. The cave used by Batman and Robin the popular TV series that has also been made into numerous movies. The cave is usually filled with computer equipment, Batman's costume, and of course a great place to stash the bat mobile. All concealed behind a secret door in the house of Bruce Wayne.
Law enforcement officials in middle Tennessee made a discovery that would make even Batman's jaw drop. The cave in Trousdale county Tennessee was used to house a sophisticated underground marijuana growing facility. The stash was complete with offices, sleeping quarters, restroom, and a huge climate controlled growing area large enough for 1,000 marijuana plants. All concealed within one of Tennessee 9,000 natural caves and accessible through a hidden passageway below a beautiful vacation home. Did I mention the escape hatch down a 150 yard long corridor complete with a trap door below a hydraulic controlled boulder?
The growing operation was complete with an irrigation system to water the 400 - 500 plants that were between 6 and 12 inches tall and the 400 - 500 additional plants that were as tall as 6 feet. To power the sophisticated lighting and climate control system that kept the caves temperature at 87 degrees the men had illegally spliced into county power lines. Investigators estimate that the operation could produce as much as 6 to 8 million dollars worth of marijuana per year.
Three men have been arrested in connection with the growing operation. Brian Gibson and Greg Compton were arrested in Tennessee and Fred Earl Strunk, thought to be the mastermind behind the operation, was arrested at his home in Gainesville Florida on December 14, 2005. Strunk, whose real identity unknown, is said to have at least 6 identifications with various names in his home along with 50,000 in cash. Strunk was being held on a 15 million dollar bond which was reduced to 1 million dollars in January 2006 by General Sessions Judge Kenny Linville with the provision he provide a high school or college yearbook with his photo or a military id to prove is identity.

Drug Cave Case Goes To Grand Jury
2/21/2006
Tuesday the case against three men accused of running a massive hi-tech drug operation heads to a grand jury.
Investigators say Fred Strunk, Brian Gibson, and Greg Compton ran one of the state's biggest drug operations all from a cave in Trousdale County.
Gibson and Compton are accused of growing more than 800 marijuana plants.
Strunk, whom is considered the mastermind of the operation, owned the house above the cave.
The District Attorney’s office said each of the three men had several aliases, and authorities are still working to put all the pieces of this incredibly complex puzzle together.
*"Bato Bucket"...a series of media-filled planters, each fed by an emitter and plumbed back to the reservoir
now thats my type of setup nice and stealthy, wonders how they got into the cave if it had a hydraulic door, dont think no agents be knocking one of those bad boys down easily :jawdrop:
Thats amazing, but how did they get caught. Seems like a waste to have it that stealthy but get caught, certainly noone stumbled on it maybe it was a rat-out like every other bust.
yeah, its a pretty crazy story, which will probably be made into a movie based on one of the guys memoirs. pff.
we probably won't know "how" they got busted until after the trial but it sounded like a long affair. 5 yrs they were watchin and probably someone ratted them out in the end. good stuff and they were tapped into the counties electric too which may have been the reason they got busted. who knows......
Impressive setup but the plants look like hemp lmao, if I was to set up a grow like that it would be of wee bit better quality, but the room is fantastic, too bad they got caught...damn agents..
