A star know as “Methuselah star”, or scientifically called HD 140283, is situated about 200 million lightyears away and has stumped experts.
Analysis of the star showed that it contained very little iron content, which would suggest that it formed during a period when the iron element was not abundant in the Universe.
This in turn led to the discovery the star is 14.5 billion years old, some 0.7 billion years older than the Universe.

Experts met at a conference in California in July in an attempt to solve the mystery, but so far questions have just led to more questions – and it could lead to a “scientific revolution”.

British physicist Robert Matthews wrote for UAE-based media outlet The National: “It’s a riddle of cosmic proportions: How can the universe contain stars older than itself?
“That’s the conundrum now facing astronomers trying to establish the age of the universe — and its resolution could spark a scientific revolution.
“Astronomers now know it contains very little iron — which means it must have been formed before this element became common in the universe.
“And that implies HD 140283 must be almost as old as the universe itself.”

Mankind is in our Infancy relative to understanding the universe.

Big Bang Theory ... I guess that's a TV show.

Why wouldn't the universe be infinite ?

Very possible.

It's already an attempt to explain what we find unexplainable.

Dating the big bang is harder than stating it existed at some point. Clearly the universe is both bigger and older than has been stated earlier. The inflation model is nonsense, as is the higgs boson. But you can't argue with the big bang.
Besides the interesting question about this star isn't its birthday, but how it has survived so long. Stars of that type should have died a long time ago.

What if the universe follows the laws of nature and is on a macro scale just a Bubble and the big bang is just a transition from on Natural shape to the Next.

Bullshit idea. The idea rests on combining 2 theories together, and giving them a new name.
Theory one is a warp bubble for the trekies out there. Effectively separating the interior from the universe. In this theory they give it negative mass. They then add in spacial density shifting as the propulsion. But why expend all that energy? If they achieved the first part, the bubble would act according to quantum mechanics rather than Newtonian physics. As it would weigh less than the crital weight limit of light x 100. Faster than light then becomes fairly simple using energy and natural forces combined.
But it can't be done.

Mosconium element 119

an interesting conversation on this topic was the Joe Rogan Show with guest BOB Lazar month or two ago

When a wildfire burns, it usually burns until all the combustible material is burned.

In the case of the sun, what stops it from burning everything - all the hydrogen - at once ?

Good thing it doesn't or we would be cooked. Or very cold.

The sun isn't a ball of gas on fire, its a ball of gas so dense, that at the centre, the pressure is so great the atoms are fusing together. Releasing vast amounts of energy to radiate out into space. But the stuff not under that pressure doesn't undergo that process. Eventually it will start to run out of material and grow larger.

that is tiny compared to Trumps ego...

So if you were a mathematically oriented psychiatrist, how would you quantify egotistical-ness ?

Probably Trump makes it easy.

Just analyzing his Twitter feed.

Constant stream of Put-downs, Gross lies, and compliments - as if a compliment from Trump was the best thing that could happen to a person.

He acts like he is the King in his mind.

Just compare his Put-down count with other politicians' Twitter accounts, and with normal people.

What's interesting about Trump is, he actually writes his own Twits.

The Dems new weapon is actually their old weapon, one which they never cease to use when they are down, or run out of facts, RACISM! They are truly disgusting! They even used it on Nancy Pelosi. I will be putting out a list of all people who have been so (ridiculously) accused!

Leaving El Paso for the White House. What GREAT people I met there and in Dayton, Ohio. The Fake News worked overtime trying to disparage me and the two trips, but it just didn’t work. The love, respect & enthusiasm were there for all to see. They have been through so much. Sad!

I don’t know who Joaquin Castro is other than the lesser brother of a failed presidential candidate (1%) who makes a fool of himself every time he opens his mouth. Joaquin is not the man that his brother is, but his brother, according to most, is not much. Keep fighting Joaquin!

The people I met today in Dayton are the finest anywhere!

Watching Fake News CNN is better than watching Shepard Smith, the lowest rated show on @FoxNews. Actually, whenever possible, I turn to @OANN!

....misrepresenting what took place inside of the hospital. Their news conference after I left for El Paso was a fraud. It bore no resemblance to what took place with those incredible people that I was so lucky to meet and spend time with. They were all amazing!o

Just left Dayton, Ohio, where I met with the Victims & families, Law Enforcement, Medical Staff & First Responders. It was a warm & wonderful visit. Tremendous enthusiasm & even Love. Then I saw failed Presidential Candidate (0%) Sherrod Brown & Mayor Whaley totally.....

President @realDonaldTrump with the incredible medical staff at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio today. Some extremely powerful moments throughout the entire visit, with so much enthusiasm and love, contrary to what the Trump Hating Dems would ever share or say.

Watching Sleepy Joe Biden making a speech. Sooo Boring! The LameStream Media will die in the ratings and clicks with this guy. It will be over for them, not to mention the fact that our Country will do poorly with him. It will be one big crash, but at least China will be happy!

What?! Aren't you sure what you are? I 'm sure what I am. Why aren't you?

Do you need a few more years experience or something?!

You've got eyes and ears and a brain, haven't you?

Well then.

Get a grip, why don't you?

We are a simulation right?

You are dumb... those star is 200 light years from us,not 200
million light years...
