biddy biddy bong bong

all day all night in the party, everyone smokin sensimilla :rasta:

Just wondering if anyone else here loves Eek a mouse? I've been a huge fan of his for quite some time now but it seems like many reggae fans aren't familiar with him. His style is really original and I think his creativity and love for reggae are really inspirational. I think the "sing jay" style he developed has influenced a lot of modern music by showing them all the cool effects to be made by the voice alone...Matisyahu seems like he was influenced by Eeka and Sublime even gave Eeka a shoutout in their thank you dub. He's still touring strong and he's been around forever now... pretty cool in my book. :rasta: :rasta: :rasta:

I was really into the Ska scene back in the 90's when it was big. This lead me to have a real interest in traditional jamaican music. I have never seen eek-a-mouse live, though i have wanted to for a long time, though i have seen the skatalite with all their original members except Don Drummond, and i've seen laurel aitken, and toots hibbard, who is credited with first using the word reggae in a song. Eek-a-mouse, desmond dekker, and lee"scratch" perry are those that are still alive that i really want to see. People that are into to those things can tell from my handle that i am a big skatalites fan. They were essentially the studio band for all the studio one artists, and as such they were the backing group for most of bab marleys early songs, including my personal favorite, "simmer down"
