i decided to make a thread to show a buddy on how i run my systems. Its pretty simple, cheap, and easy to grow this way.
things required
2 18 gal rubbermaid
4 rolls of ductape
8 6inch net pots
8 small round airstones
8 air lines
and a pump,, the one i useis a commercial grade 70liters per minute 8 outlet air pump,, it works great!

first thing i do is take my 18gal res and wrap it in 3 layers of duct tape to keep light out of the water.

cut 4 holes to fit the net pots

cut a little slit in the handle for the air lines

run the air lines with the air stones one at each corner

fill the res up with water about 2inches below the net pot

when i take my clones out of the cloner i start them at 300ppms just sensi grow ab, rootzone once a week at 1ml per gal, i add aquashield 10ml per gal every 4 days, i then add 100 more ppms of nutes every 3 days until i get to 700, then first day of flower at 750.
my clones stay in the cloner about 14 days after taken from the mother

when i transplant them i cut a little square out of the net pot for the roots. i pull the roots through and fill up with freshly cleaned hydroton

new clones in the veg buckets

new plants for flower vegged for only 2 weeks

changing a res takes about 10 to 15 mins, i just put the lid with plants on a spare res with no water in it

heres some buckets in flower 17 days

and after 8 to 10 weeks you get nugs like this!

Those Nugs are fkin Massiveee! man, what is the strain? & why do you only use the little airstones as apposed to the bigger 12", i use the big un's but my pump is the same size 70lpm, the little stones serve you very well!, dont they luv the Sensi ab(is that 2+?), what other stuff do you use bro, addys etc. Congrats on a great simple tutorial, all noobs should try to copy ya man, great work, DWC is so simple, im a tote grower myself! Major respect to ya man!¬)

I like the way you switch Res's for change out. I sypthon myself, i use a 1.5" Aqarium tube & suck, gravity does its thing & i can littlrally change out 70 litre totes in 2 mins tops, out & back in, only problem is the tote has to be raised to do it.(sometimes i get a little mouthfull lol!)

Oh & your electrical rig is a work of art, are you a sparky?(electrician?) Can we have details of your Rig, lighting,stats etc etc.

dude thats so sick and yet so simple i may toss one together soon see if i like it better i currently run a bunch of single 5 gal buckets in one room and rdwc in the other so addin a 18 or 27gal in the mix wont hurt at all... also love the idea of cuttin the small whole for the roots in the net pots ...

Im using the smallest one which is a 30 site.. i take around 16 clones and pick the best 8.. I use clonex at 20ml per gal, and aqua shield at 15 ml per gal, i usually see roots in about 4-7 days then i use sensi grow ab until i have room to put them in the dwc buckets

the strain pictured is chemdog 4 x og kush by cali connections, i just cut her down 2 nights ago.
i use the small round stones because they seem to last a long time, put out a ton of bubbles u cant tell in the pic but my buckets are bubbling!!! like boiling water, and for $1.50 shiit
I had a buddy whose a electrician setup all my electrical.
o yah i love sensi ab ive been using it for almost 4 years now and for the price i dont think there is a better base nute on the market.. i also run advance big bud, kushi kush, b52, overdrive, dutch masters root zone, and botanicare sweet

you should dude its so easy!! just keep a eye on ph and ppm and your set!! and it always fun to experiment with new techniques
as for my room goes i run 4 1000's no co2, i run the magnum xxxl hoods, air cooled with a separate exhaust just for the lights soo i drop them pretty close to the canopy within 12-15 inches,, i try to harvest every 2 weeks and if i dont hit over 24 ounces im disappointed

i forgot to mention my veg buckets are pretty small.. it makes it easier for me to pull them out of my veg room.. i believe they are 10 or 12 gal rubber maids.. i only change my veg buckets after the plants go into flower and the clones are ready

also my flower buckets are 18gals but i fill up with around 7 gals of water and about 4 or 5 with the veg buckets.. i do res changes in flower every 7 to 8 days, if my ppms are at lets say 900 after a res change, the ppm will drop to around 750 after 7 days. in flower ill add about 1 gal of water every day and in veg they dont drink as much.. i added about 2 gals of water every week to them

this schedule is based off of the chemdog og kush i just harvested.. sometimes i will go over 1200ppms, like the somas somango i ran at 1600ppms and bogs blue moon rock i cant go over 950ppms,, its all strain dependent

dude we run bout the same exact shit .... from lookin at the pics i was thinkin chem genetics in the mix definately... i use all of those products with a few alterations but basically the same schedule.. one more ? for ya and ill know all i need to know do ya put 1 bucket per light ie- 4k room 4 totes 16plants? 4plants per 1k? or do ya have 2 totes under each 1k... i also use mag hoods i just was givin the cap xxxtreme to play with to do a comparrison at i run bout 2-4 buckets under 1k get bout 24 per light depending on strain some times more but it really depends on what i run and eg time allowed ..im also a co2 junkie u may be closer to hittin 2lb per 1 k with that addition ... other then that i wouldnt change a thing keep rockin it bro.

Have you tried running a higher water level? Like even with the bottom of the net pot. I think you will get less cord root and more feeder roots. Great looking buds by the way

i run 2 buckets under each light, so 8 plants a light, 32plants at the most in there flowering
i want to run co2 but what scares me is you have to keep the temp around 82-85f, and i definitely dont want my buckets to heat up

i have ran the water level higher but i like the roots to breath, the bubbles splash plenty of water on them, and honestly i think i see faster growth when the water level is real low

no i shoot for 4 4oz plants in each bucket, so a total of 8 plants equals 2lbs

no they dont move, they are heavier and just sink and stay where ever you put them

Ive got three of these running right now(18gal tote four air stones a tub). Two under a screen with four sites each and one free standing with nine sites. Interesting to see what you pulled with yours thanks for sharing Im also running aqua shield and hygrozyme...stuff is great I dont do rez changes only dump and add back clean if a prob arises. Good job on those tubs man!!
