~BHO LOVERS~

@hammalamma- thanks a lot man, a color i havent really seen before in my personal runs. Not really gold, not really brown, kinda like a caramel color. I like it though

@midwest- to be honest i was thinking it wasnt quite purged. I dont really have anyway of controlling temps right now. Im going to try and find a hot plate with an adjustable temperature before my next run. I think i may have started whipping a bit too soon, when i would see the bubble popping slow down, i would stir it around and smear it back out with my razor blade. I did this for probably around and hr and a half or so. Eventually, it had pretty much stopped, and it was about 5 in the morning, so i went ahead and scraped. I think ill try to purge out a small sample a bit more and see the difference. With this being my second large batch, im hoping that the 3rd will be the best.
Another, similar sized run is going to happen sometime within the next few days and ill try to get more of a step by step of the procedure so i can have some of you gurus help me out a bit.

yes every run yeilds more knowledge and skill. so keep blasting and never get discouraged. may i suggest lucienne butane if you can find it.

i feel like i finally got my technique down after lots of trial and error. oo and this website!:)
a nice digital thermometer with stainless steel tip is your best friend when making oils, getting the correct temps down is crucial.
OIL RULES! dabbed out

what are you measuring the temp of? just the heat being applied? the oil itself?

i measure the temp by taking the thermometer probe and placing it in the corner of the of the oil dish. usually right above the oil line.

fucking sick waterbelly thats what i like to see!

made a small batch today. about 10 grams of some AAA sensi star. Amazing amazing amazing flavor. Yielded just under 2 grams. Very very happy with it, the flavor transferred over amazingly.

there is no way in hell there is 4.4 grams of THC in 20 grams of bud...

perhaps not thc, but combined cannabinoids and other terpenes. our skunk pharm research butane recycling system is getting as much as 24% return.

return is grower skill, inside outside and grower skill dependent, from what i have seen.

I don't have exact numbers or any way to prove it, but I pulled 25% off of some kens pure og nugs that would have been top shelf at any club around here. I got a qp off a p. I myself find it hard to believe, with returns I have been seeing lately.

Nice return , What strain? I just did a tube the other day of mostly blu dream nugs that yielded 4.7 from 20 to 24grams, I should have weighed it before.

Im not in a med state, but i was told it was og x diesel. It def has that diesel funk, which transferred to the oil nice, tastes amazing.

like others have said, the oil isnt pure thc, and it seems low 20% return from nugs is very normal from what i see. My last run is a page or two back, with some shitty leafy outdoor that only got me 12%. I was so pumped when i saw the scale read 4.4

My personal best was this Ogre which came out to a whopping 27% yield. 56 grams in, 15.1 out.

I thought you made oil on the reg? Aren't you used to 20-25% yields?

When I first started I never used to hit that high, because of the material I was using just wasn't that resinous. It was always dank, but I would yield like 16-20%.

No I basically yield 20% minimum, and the strains I've been running lately routinely hit over 25.

Forgot the strain of this one, but some more eye candy for y'all:

Yeah, Hama and Krunch should go over to the TC forums, kids are hitting like high 20's and super low 30's even lol. Its nuts, im just guessing here, but the 30+ returns i've seen are always a sour d or headband lol. Its gotta be the combined total cannabinoids, this is why some dank og's, even though tested in the low 20's are getting 25 % plus oil returns, because of the range of other cannabinoids in the og/sour/ chem-y strains. This is also my guess as to how these "super" or "elite" strains are being bred to be so potent. More cannabinoids then just the usual ones.
