Best way to educate your kids going into school about mommy's or daddy's garden

We'll tell him like go put that away. And he'll say "you mean where daddy's plants are" what are my options here lol

Slap the shit out of them if they say something. :)

People don't do that much anymore huh?

If you don't trust them then they shouldn't know. Typically it is an asshole move to put a young child in charge of such damaging information. They can not comprehend the ramifications if they "accidentally" say something.

I am assuming you are in Cali with the 215 in your username. They take kids for this you know?

Seems irresponsible to me.

there is a book called Its Just A Plant, by Ricardo Cortes
I would suggest checking out the book (preview it all with the link below) and seeing if it is something you might want to share with your kids, or friends with kids.

you can preview it here: http://www.justaplant.com/story/

I always refer to it as Flowers. And every year I allow them to take vegies that they have grown to school. My Granddaughter absolutely loves to plant. We spend hours going through the stack of seed catalogues for vegies and stuff.

I don't invole.him in my garden at all but if he looks out the window he can see it and he knows I work in it but I like the veggie idea

I will say there is no "right time."

I told my oldest at 13. I showed her everything, because I knew I could trust her. My youngest knew at 9. Only because I was living where it was "legal", and I was not worried about any legal issues.

My youngest got mad at me because she "could have been taken", when we lived in the illegal State. I didn't expect that reaction. To be asked why I risked that by a child was unnerving.

Made me think.

It was a different era, but I stopped growing once my kids entered school and didn't start again until they were out of the house. Potentially far too serious of consequences involved to burden them with.

This is a sacred plant that EVERYBODY should know about. Teach your kids, teach your community. If you don't like how everybody looks at you, then maybe you shouldn't grow at all?

Genesis 1:29
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb yielding seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for food:

First of all I keep my garden super secret. I don't discuss gardening around them. But I do openly discuss cannabis rights and my dislike for alcohol and the hypocrisy there is surrounding it.
The last thing is I was brought up were family business was family business and you don't discuss anything out side the family. So that's a philosophy exists in mine. If one of my my kids brought my garden to my attention they would get an earful and it would end with stay out of my business. I don't have little Kids.
But Im just a Private hobby medical care giver witch got me started down this road.

My feelings are no matter were you live you keep it private.

Yeah, right.

Except, of course, for the reality that they can potentially be the cause of putting themselves into a foster home and you having all of your belongings stripped and going to prison. That would be a wonderful trip for them to live with while extolling the sacred plant mantra.

Sweet Jesus.

True, if your breaking the law. There are several supreme court cases that side with the parents in cases where cannabis is used as the excuse to take kids from families. I also never break plant limit laws. Sucks we even have this conversation.....

Don't act wierd about it and they won't say shit. Teach them from a young age that its just another adult thing like cigs or alcohol. That's how I was raised anyway and never thought twice about a yard full of plants.

Fact of the matter is growing cannabis is legal in california under 215. But maybe I don't want anyone to know about it. I can hear my son telling his teacher this is where my daddy grows his plants lol

just do what this guy says. i have a few kids and we garden together, marijuana is just a plant like any other. if you don't make it seem like something special, then it won't be that interesting to them.

D.A.R.E made a lot of drug users.

With 15 different vegies and 20-40 different flowers, they think it's is just another plant. not to mention there must be 40+ pots with something growing besides what is in the garden.

I have a 8mo boy. I live in a legal medicated state. I rent a building to do my grow in, as I don't want any issues with CPS coming to my house and making a determination my grow is a hazard to my child. all it takes is a disgruntled cps worker or officer and your life is FUCKED!!!!!!!! and fucked is putting it extremely lightly.

BUT..... its perfectly ok to have my 36 liquor bottle bar out in the open, and having legal prescription narcotics in the house (both secured, but not as well as my legal garden is). the state deems it ok for a parent to use alcohol and prescription drugs, but not ok to use medical mj or grow it in a household with children.

that's big guberment for ya.

Part of this discussion is not getting caught and the other is what's really good for our kids.

I'm under standing the hypocrisy in your argument Demon. I think when your child starts to reach certain levels of conciseness a whole bunch of other moral issues take place.

Im not friends with my kids but im close to them. I don't hang with my kids but I spend lots of time with them. They all have plenty of friend to explore adulthood, The good and the bad. My job is strictly to bring them to be happy well adjusted adults.

When it comes to kids and adult things I lead by example. I stopped drinking 14 years ago because I was terrified my kids would be f up on booze. I saw to many good multigenerational families get torn down by booze and hard drugs.

Listen I love cannabis and the effects. Just like I love sex and both are none of my kids business. I speak about both with them but with a parental voice. With this information they can make a well informed decision as they become young adults.
