Best way to de-fan?

Hey guys looking for opinions on the best way to de-fan (remove fan leaves) before the twister. I've tried many ways over the years and they all are too slow . Most recently I've been having the girls clip them tight with fiskars before the twister but after take down. Wondering if I should go back to doing it while the plant is still standing or possibly get another machine for this like a trimpro table or something

I'm not on any kind of scale but I chop the whole plant if I can or if too big I try to section it out into big limbs. It's easy enough to pop the biggest fan leaves off with your hands and then the next size down I just snip them with fiskars.

No way around it though probably, can be pretty time intensive.

I use old school trimpro style machines. Chinese ones from ebay. Remove the factory grate and put a 20" bbq grate on it. Have your wingnuts wear full leather work gloves and safety glasses. I like it leafed to get better cleaner material for making product later

Add more girls.

People are too slow, its a waste of money. I tried to have people leaf by hand and buck it down for the dry trimmer . I had to crack the whip constantly, I hate doing that. It ended up costing me almost as much as hand trimming. As much as I love trimgals they are getting to india with piecework pay at my camp.

yes adding more people is only solution , 4 people de leafing , one on machine feeding will keep it running round the clock ( t2 ) broken down into branches , you probably already worked out not too pick too much at one time and keep it fresh as possible . cutting at a 45 deg on the fan leaf so the bud is detached at the same time as the leaf . separating as much fans out of your material as you go .

its more than possible to run 50/60 pounds in 8/10 hours .t4 is nowhere near as efficient , could probably half that figure . how bigs the drying room and how efficient is the key .

i think you need to start a thread tech , i,m keen too see what your up too. sounds like a decent grow,

probably should add too , its all going to depend on the material your running also :)

why de-leaf before the twister? thats what the twister does. wet trim, and dry trim will follow. you always have to hand trim it after a machine anyways.
seems like an unnecessary step.

the fan leaves block the bud from getting cut properly , if theres too much of it

i havent used a twister, but i have used other table top trimmers and such, and i found pulling fan leaves ended up being a wasted step and the machine did a fine job. I use to pull fan leaves on my table top plants, but realized that it didnt take any longer to just run the flowers over the top without pulling fan leaves, and ive ran some very big leaves.
