Best Water Filtration Systems?

Rabbi

Member
Hey guys just wondering if anybody has a suggestion for a good water filtration system? Right now I'm the process of pursuing a "Producers License" for a small scale(2100sqft) commercial facilty here in Canada but building is located in a small town with terrible town water and need something to help with that. The finished product needs to be lab tested so I really need to make sure the water is super clean.

Is it true that "reverse osmosis" systems bring your TDS down to 0? Is this the way to go or do you any of you guys suggest something else?

Thankyou for the helpful suggestion lol.

Anyone else have anything related to the actual question?

Was currently planning on going with RPC for lab work as they are the least expensive on the list of labs that I received from Health Canada. Do you do lab work?

R/O systems work pretty well but if you run a lot of water the filters get kind of expensive. i only go through 5-10 gallons a week so i can just pick it up from one of those grocery store R/O water machines for a few dollars. i checked and TDS was indeed 0.

a true system would come to about 10 000 for your application.
you can get a pre filter -kdf combo coupled to a smaller RO sytem with uv sterilization.

The air you have is probably better than toronto or montreal air, but that is not what i am talking about. your lab should have furnished you with a list of analysis they will perform to approve your product. you should know what i mean.

yes expertchem does good "lab work".

Best thing is find a natural mountain filtered spring water, analyses it, then send tankers to bring it to your spot and store it say once a month.

Ok yeah I see what your saying now. Keep in mind the building is only 2100sqft(but with 16ft ceiling) so it's not going to be thaat hard to keep up with things. Going make sure humidity doesn't go over 60%(night or day), going to put an 8 burner in each corner and obviously going to get a hefty AC system for summers.

man, youre on youre way.
i would love to tell you it is going to be that easy.
But the truth is that by the way i watch you talk about your project and hopes i can already tell you you are in for a big learning curve.

The real goal here is to not have to resort to gamma irradiation...you have many hoops to jump through for that.

Like a buddy of mine said : i don t know one person that would buy gamma ed weed even at a buck a gram...

Their is literally zero chance that I would ever resort to gamma irradiation, why would I? I would destroy and throw out my entire corp before resorting to that. Gimme more credit than that lol, geez.

i do. just that it costs alot to maintain a lab standard quality. if you have to throw away your crops 9 out of ten,,,,u in deep doodoo.

i heard Bedrocan makes it from time to time but have a hard time keeping it consistent in a standardized environment. I also heard they where clowns.
keeps me motivated.

They are clowns lol. Clearly employing experienced grows is not high on their priority list.

Is it treated town water or a private well? If its from a public source the analysis is probably available online, check out sask water sites for your local waterworks information

With either source, unless you lucked out, you're looking at a hardness and tds of around 1000 each, with both iron and manganese probably over the guide line limits.

You'll find a bunch of deals for Iron filters but most tech's do not recommend them anymore.

A 10K gal complete system, anti-scalant and RO based could be pieced together for around $5K, or $10K- $15k for a pre assembled and warrantied unit.

A 1K gal a day is much much cheaper.

Remember RO's are rated at ideal conditions(water temp 20C) so if your RO is rated at 1000g/day and your water is under 10C you'll get around 1/3 of the rating, maybe less depending.

Your size is not huge so hauling may be an option if you've got decent water around you, especially if youve got a farm truck as well transport and storage tanks already.

If you want really low TDS get an RO, other wise even "fresh" spring water will be 200+

Get some good eve's on your structure and collect and store as much rainwater as possible.

Good luck!

Go to Airwaterice.com they sell systems called reef keepers they are RO/DI systems but they have quite a few options for large scale filtration systems.

The land up there is beauty, makes sense the water is also good!

We've got it bad out here on the prairies, waste water is a big downside but we gotta have pure water!

dultmeier . com has some great prices on booster pumps
