Best training method & veg time for 19 x 34 space

Hey IC!

I'm starting up my second grow rocking 200 watts of home made LED cobs and the best stealth setup possible. I was planning on doing 2 X fruitylicious and 2X Aurora Indica in 3 gal smart pots.

I was planning on doing 1 top and then SCROG but is 4 plants in a 19 x 34 inch space too tight for efficient scrog? Bit worried about topping as well since I haven't done it before and I don't want to kill my plants.

I could grow regular tree style or do LST as well.

Thoughts?

that's a tight spot. i'd top and scrog 1 plant vegged long enough to mostly fill the screen

if you are set on 4 plants i'd either top them to 4 main shoots or just do it like 4 untopped flowered around 8" tall. in that small a space you really want to maximize the canopy. a mother to supply a bunch of clones for SOG would be ideal.

anyway, topping is easy. nothing to worry about. just don't cut anything off you don't want gone :p

I really want to do 4 plants so I get two strains, 2 phenos of each. I like having some variety in my buds.

My height max is around 4 feet so I've got some decent vertical to work with.

if that's the case, i'd top them and maybe do some LST. idk, i just prefer the look of a topped plant. feels like space is utilized more efficiently.

Okay that sounds like a good plan to me. What age do I top and how long do I need to veg after topping/in total?

i haven't worked from seed in a while but i'd probably top at the first set of mature fan leaves.

Okay one more question

I've got an under 6 plant limit. Make more sense to do 5 in this space or maximize it with 4? I was thinking 4 since it's rectangular and the 5th would be odd man out but I do have enough space for 5 3 gal pots easily.

Id go with 4, top them twice, veg for month(not quite sure on this ive only run a 400watta) or til there 8 inches and flower time, remember once the start stretching just start snapping branchs and bend to keep even height, take clones as you may find something you like and its guess work if its the first time growing out a strain

You can fill that space with just 1 plant, 6 easy. One key is maximizing available root space, so the largest possible rectangular containers are ideal.

Assuming you're working with feminized seed, consider starting 6 positions, top once, and veg for a month. Take plenty of clones and throw into flowering as soon as you're ready. When you harvest you'll know your keeper phenos and can focus on yield-maxing techniques that consume valuable veg time (but are worthwhile when you know what you're going to get).

How you allocate space after selecting from seed is a matter of pruning and training. Good luck - here's one way to occupy a similarly sized space:

You could skip topping altogether and just feed the plants through the screen as they grow. Could probably cut time off your grow and still fill the space.

what you going to gain by topping them twice ????? other then slower growth never seen the benefit of topping to get 2 6 8 tops topping is used more if you ran out of height and last resort
what the op should do is LST and crop to get 100's of tops lol here plant 5 weeks veg 100's of tops and a pound plant anyways to the op pm me if you need any questions on scrogging think i got it down pact hahaha

Hi guys,

I'm coming from the italian forum and I found this 3d interesting because of the height of my box (100 cm) and the strains that I would try out in my next cycle ..

infact I am planning to run 2 original skunk x haze + 1 thai x haze of Sam the Skunkman..

and.. how we say here.. : " here is where the donkey fall"... :tumbleweed:

I know that these 2 strains are very very vigorous ..as i read around in the hole forum.. So I assume that make LST would be a very suicide cause the lateral branch could easily override my home made box ..that is 150 cm x 50 cm x 100 cm (heigth)

Do any try out to run with scrog these 2 kind of weed ?

I've grown the original skunk x haze (free seed) and holy shit was it a hard grow. Maybe I just got a bad pheno but it was crazy stretchy, hardly any bud, and the bud it grew was super airy and looked pretty bad. Grew some absolutely beautiful plants in that same run so it wasn't the conditions. I'd love to give it another go sometime when I can dial it in more but in a tiny box it's going to be really tough and super low yields.
