Morning, but only if they need it. Never water in the late afternoon, wait until the next day....its much better for them to sit in slightly dry soil than in damp soil over night

Zek Out side and the ground. Just wondering and i use gal milk jugs no hose

I usually do a morning or if I miss the morning then at sundown when the temps are cool and water won't boil and or heat up

Outdoors, water them if it needs it, no matter the time. If they are drooping, water them. Otherwise, water at your convenience. The rain knows no time schedule. The plant doesn't care as long as it gets enough.

I water in the early am , as evening watering will attract rodents and/or unwanted critters searching for water.As well as I like my plants to be ready for the full day of sun and wind which drys them out , but that's at my spot and I'm in ground and dumbpots.
