best time to put clones outside?

L

i heard from my buddy edward, a long time ago, the best time is in march. its april now so that gives me about two months until june. is it worth putting clones outside in april?

is there anything i need to look out for while growing clones outdoors? i'll be growing in farm area where corn grows really well, dont want to give out the town name

should i just invest in a huge motherplant instead of about 10 clones?

thanks

If you put clones outside now they will start to bud. If you want to put plants out this early use seeds. If you decide to use clones, you'd have to use supplemental lighting for a couple hours, till 8:45-9 works best for me. But in your situation, growing in a corn field that isn't going to work so I'd fly the seed route. Hope this halpz~

Hi: Around Denver the last frost in the spring is rather late. We start the outdoors season on Mother's day. I get a jump on the season by starting plants indoors and vegging them until it is safe to go outside. By then they are nice sized plants. Sometimes people have trouble with the plants getting sunburn or trying to flower right away but they will figure it out pretty soon. Google last frost if your winter has freezes. Good luck.

Bringsup a good point, i have rooted clones of strains i would like to try outdoors, my past experience with outdoor canna farming should me strains respond differently to lengthening days & shortening days...so i have several of each strain i like in red beer cups, labeled, that i put in the greenhouse the other day, i will wait a week then put out 3 more of each kind...trying not to be classic stoner lazy..and write this shit down on my calender...i'll keep doing this until i run out of clones or they show clear intent..that will show me what week in April i can get started, whats the perfect date for each strain to go out, then next spring i'll have the strains i like out as early as possible. of course it might not work and everything will flower. i was gonna snip these extras anyway so WTF, my other friend says may 1st for us, that would be @ the 45th paralel.

Don't grow in the cornfield. Your plant will finish way later than the corn. It will stick out like a sore thumb. If you have a good place to grow then I'd chose 10 clones over one mother plant. Your still going to grow great nice sized plants if you plant healthy clones on june1
