best time to chop sativas..

hey everyone just a quick Q my BB has all the triks cloudy im mean 90% cloudy. are they like indicas when you need them to get amber or is ok for them to be cloudy and yet have the same affect.. some info would be nice

umm no one have a deff answer on the tricks and whens the best time to harvest them as far as sativas go. and by sativa i mean that the leaves seem to be sativa but she grew like an indica so i think she may have been crossed with a short flowering time Indica..

If the trics are almost all cloudy that usually means they should start to amber up within the next week or two. If you want the full potency out of that BB I'd let it go until around day 75-80. Sativas will all produce amber trics but it just usually takes atleast 10 weeks. You could chop it in a week and have still have some super potent bud but it wont be fully ripened for a few weeks. I'm one of those that will let white widow flower 10 weeks even though most people consider it ready around week 8...I like about 15-20% amber trics for a mixed high but if you prefer a more clearheaded, energetic high you can chop a little earlier (5-10% amber)

Ahh the temptation to chop sets in!

Sativas usually take longer than Indicas but you know that...50 days would be dammmnnn fast for a sativa. Not saying it isn't possible, but dannggg. I would wait until you see at least some amber trichs...just so you know its ripe.

Some people say you need to let real sativas go to like 20%+ amber but the indica's you pull at the first sign of amber, or when all cloudy to avoid the couchlock. I wouldn't know, I always got antsy and pulled them at the first 5% amber or so....

yeah I think bb is an sativa/indica hybrid so I highly doubt it will need longer than 20 more days to reach 15% amber trics

yea see i have 7 more plants i need to put into the flower chanber and iff you go to my page its going to be great in 08 see my dibocal i need the space. i dont need couch lock i like a clear head but yet a pleasent stone. what to do what to do

The more cloudy the more headbuzz, the more amber the more body stone....

"Best" is too subjective. Pick a popcorn bud. Cut it up. Bake @200F for 10-20 minutes. Toke. Compare the high you got with the high you want and harvest accordingly.

hey all MY rule of thumb is a 1/3 clear 1/3 cloudy 1/3 amber . i use it for both indica and sativa. i use the popcorn test method to check plant as some plants have a different high at different stages of rippening. we are doing some southwestern hellfire super sativa and after a 12 week wait its hard to let it go the maybe extra four days to a week for it to amber up. I am personally a fan of letting my plants go until a good amount, at least 20% of my trich's are amber. I really look for any signs of deterioration of the trichomes. So long as they haven't started to explode and degrade I let them continue to ripen. I do the popcorn test too, but I usually let it dry for a week before I try it. It kinda even gives a mock cure.

mr.p-are you getting low on smoke bro?lol-let her go about 60-70 days and then the hairs on the plant should be 70%red when they are you should be ready.im on my last 30-35 days right now and days are starting to go ssssssssllllllllllloooooooooowwwwwww,i hate those last couple weeks its like waiting for christmas when ur little.be patient and you'll be glad you were.peace bro-Y-

well she is fucking stony i tell you what. damn plant maid my eyes cross.... im letting the rest of the 3/4's os he plant go another week or so depending but when i wieghed what i cut i was shocked at the how much. she is damn fruity and so smoth. will snap a shot of her tomarow..
