they do the same thing but lst is a lot more work than just tucking new growth.
I think if you lst a few plants as opposed to scrogging one big plant you might get some better results just based off the time involved in vegging one huge plant under a screen. Other then that they do the same exact thing. They train your plants.

desired method {ie} soil/soiless or hrdro
i would combine LST, FIM, Scrogg screen for maxium yield potental ive done LST combined with FIM also multi FIM on a plant. love the results in the back part of my gallery you'll find tutorials on the mentioned methods start LST early 2-3 wks of age from seed. FIM is different then topping the plant it forces min 3 new growth tops from each branch done, a plant can get quite bushy this method
if this is your 1st grow maybe do LST combined with FIM, FIM is very easy and if ya mes up n/p the plant was just topped.
