Best strains for studying and concentration

Hello Ace!

I am looking for feedback on a good, everyday strain for relieving stress and enhancing focus and concentration. Something with a potent and LONG lasting high, clear headed, uplifting, and as little paranoia as possible. I've tried Orient Express and it has been amazing medicine, but its just a little too sedative for my needs. I need something more Sativa, I'm pretty sure.

As a note, I am also growing indoors, which I understand may also limit me.

Any suggestions?

for max focus and concentration, i'd prob go with a thai or haze. any pure sativa with a shorter flowering period than that will be more sedative, although nowhere near as bad as the constant bring-you-down indica hybrids.

Try getting baked as a reward system,, get ur work done first cuz the real good stones are not good for studying,, jus my opinion tho..peace

Hey KM depends what kind of study is in question. I was quite bad student smoking 10 to 15 joints a day. But when I was writing a diploma (after 38 exsams) I needed two joints just to start writing..I was smoking OE, NepJ and other herbs :) if she is still available I would select Vietnam Black :tiphat:

I would agree with what acridlab posted, some of the more interesting strains are hard to get a lot done with. But for what you are asking for it seems like C-99 is a good match. If there is any indica in it I can't notice it at all. All sativa in effect, no noticed paranoia, clear headed. It's finished in under 60 days, yields well and is a relatively problem free plant.

Well, for me the issue is that I have problems with social anxiety and test anxiety. I am looking for a good study and concentration smoke that will help keep me calm, elevated, happy, high, and able to focus on learning what I need to do.

I don't think it's a good idea at all to study while high, nor to use weed to self-medicate for psychological issues.

Genuinely curious pertaining to this.
How would artificial compounds help
compared to the real thing, when the
proper strain out of thousands would
be found for said unique ailment ofc.

Destroyer (Meao Thai phenotypes) are good for research and academic pursuits.

I'd agree with this; I had an Angola/Meao Thai x Panama that leaned to MT; it was great for these pursuits. I can honestly say that without it I would not have finished my dissertation. I have no doubt of it. So I highly recommend toking and studying although individual mileage may vary.

I've been smoking NepJam recently and I would add that strain to the list as well.

You might consider some of the higher CBD varieties. In my experience a nice CBD variety will give you a very nice clear head and really I can see the potential in being helpful for studies.

If it's for a PhD which might need original thinking, maybe one of the Thai crosses. If it's for anything you have to learn facts/figures/formulas I really wouldn't recommend taking a drug that affects memory as much as canna.

Definitely works as a reward system - but takes discipline.

i don't know anything about strains specifically but i find the longer the flower period the more "in the head" it is, when i've needed to concentrate in the past and present the best ones for the job were the sativa's that need more than 12 weeks min. i grew an oaxaca that took 24+weeks i cut it at 23. high was very clear it just made you feel like you were on a super caffeine buzz. at higher doses you get jittery and after a while you might crash but at low doses it's perfect for daily activities and concentration and focusing. not for night time at all. like i said caffeine buzz.

I think you shouldn't take any drug for mild psychological problems. Work them out on your own, or with help if you need it. Weed is relatively harmless, but if you need to live your life high, there is something wrong. And yes, it can also make things worse. I know from personal experience.

Not trying to tell anyone how to live their lives, just pushing back a little against the movements that glorify weed and its effect. One such movement consists of teenagers who think it's cool, but they will grow out of it. Part of the medical movement who present weed as a panacea is much more dug in though.

Thank you for sharing your opinions and experiences here. I appreciate them both! And I DO understand your view to a point: I don't like the trendification of cannabis (treating it like a status symbol) OR those who treat it like a Cure-All. I certainly don't do either! Let me put it this way: For me, cannabis isn't the answer. It's just a part of the puzzle.

Thank you all for the feedback so far! I'll consider all the strains people have mentioned so far. Would Golden Tiger be good for a Thai cross?
