Best strain for outdoor UK.

B

Buffoonman

Trying to grow outdoors in the UK, this year. Wondering if any UK folks could advice me of a good hardy strain that can take the poor climate. So far from what I have read Hollands Hope and Stupersonic look good candidates.
Last year I managed to combat the slugs before my plants were swiped, think mould could be a problem later in flowering any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Hey buffoonman i put chrystal, hog, mr nice last year. i left them too long and wen i went bak they had rotted. i've got early skunk, early girl and durban poison this year, i picked them coz the write up says resitant to mould or better for harsh weather.

i've put a shot out on the opop thread (if u've not seen that thread hav a look) for any ideas for strong plants in this weather.

good luck.

last year i grew ruderalis indica and bubblelicious in north england bubblelicious finished end of sept and was some potent tasty sticky green however the ruderalis wasnt done 2 weeks into october and the smoke was lacking too only had one small nug of rot out of 9-10 ounces of both but bare in mind i grew these in my yard and gave mine
a shake after heavy rain i would deffo reccomend the b'licious i topped mine twice too to help fight against rot and mold, passion 1 generally seems to be the best outdoor plant for uk'ers goin off quite a few peeps on uk420

Also take a look at Outsider [HQS] the genetics are the same as Holland's Hope (Skunk x Afghan) but the cultivar is smaller and finishes earlier than the HH.

some seeded branches of Outsider (xChitral)

I know this is an old thread but thought I should add this, I did a seriously noob-style grow this year, didn't prepare ground at all, planted them among much taller stinging nettles thus limiting their light somewhat... They did great!

Nirvana Snow white: Grew fantastically, short and bushy without topping, produced a nice amount of clean tasting bud with great high, after a cure of just three weeks it was a 'hit you in the head and make you happy' type of high, then slamming you down to sit and watch tele or go to sleep.

Krips Mango: Some freebies I got some time ago and only grew them this year, haven't seen them listed at the seedbank i use though. The plants grew very rapidly, to the point where i had to hack the hell out of them as they were growing up over the fence level for all neighbours to see (5 foot fence), as a result of my hack-back the yield was pathetic, but the smoke pleasant, will do these again next year but will manage them properly and train them to stay low.

Growdoc - Angeldust: Grew perfectly to begin with, then all three of the girls i got from the pack went hermie in a major way, sending off entire branches of male flower and so had to be chopped. Probably just the way i was growing them though, without hardly any proper care.

I'm looking forward to 2009 now, this was my first attempt at outdoors and i'm taking the lessons i've learned about managing height and over/under watering, also the lessons of definately growing near nettles again and will thoroughly enjoy gardening from next spring. The reason i say i will always plant near/among nettles is because of the fantastic amount of natural janitors I found. The outdoor plants were healthier than any of my previous indoor (spider mites), with ladybird/bug young crawling about picking off aphids, small wasps launching attacks on anything that moved on the plants and not to mention the pond nearby that is filled with frogs and newts, no slug/snail damage at all and i can only put that down to them as I do not use any pesticides etc.
Anyway, has anyone else got suggestions based on what you achieved in the uk outdoors this year?

Picture is a snow white i grew 12/12 from seed taking it outside during the day.

i think you could benefit a lot with some early moldresistant danish strains like Royal Dane, Danish PAssion, Leb27 or similar

Royal Dane is a medium size guerrilla plant with a potency apr 9-9/10
sativa/indica balanced high
very mold resistant and finishes normally mid September at 55 northern latitude

Danish Passion is a medium sized guerrilla plant with a potency at 8-9/10
mostly sativa. s very sticky plant with a nice sativa high
very mold resistant and finishes normally mid to end September at 55 northern latitude

leb27 aka leb30 aka lebanon 27 is a guerrilla plant with a potency apr 6-8/10 depending on pheno
sativa dominated with a very clear high. perfect for daytime or social high
only medium in potency but can yield very good under optimal conditions and its perfect for using in crosses
mold resistant and finishes normally end September at 55 northern latitude

Danish Passion

Great advice and recommendations for UK outdoor fella's,nice work. The only 2 I can reccomend as early and mold free decent bud from experience would be Early queen and EarlyPearl x Durban. But lots of people I know are having much better outdoor grows recently so theres deffo some progression! i had pretty decent luck with Durban poison, put it out late on purpose, i dont think that it got 2 ft tall, and pulled a half oz, thats with the last of dry hot summer, and rainy cool damp misty fall, up to just b4 frost i dont know what the other strains where or i would definantly recommend them... except the bugs love them, mainly the loopers, catterpilars, and other leaf hungry varments... no slugs last yr that i noticed, but i will observe for signs of them this yr...

Hi there:tiphat:
I comes from about 51 Degree/north and I ve work with different strains outdoor till now(=Guerillia-style).
I think all Informations about well working outdoorstrains was correct:biggrin:
-I only grow regular seeds indoor as outdoors-
My favorites, witch I think they will finish at UK or DK 100% are Sudden-Flower(Earth-Seeds)=Super-Auto without any Lowridergenetic
Pintura-Ruderalis+Nex-Pintura (=Ex-Kalyseeds),Leaf-Mutant-Semi-Auto till Autoflowering.=I ve a own outdoor-selection from 2015.
Berry-Pie and Green-Rasta,Guerillias Gusto/=Autos(Buzzer-Organic-Seeds)
-The other strains I use here are only finsh at years with good wether at UK or DK I think.
Good Luck to find some good :):tiphat:
