What is the best Ace seeds to comacted soil i know some varietys easy die in this conditions, but other can deal with better... malawi is one of it? for a easy outdoor guerrilha ..
I have hard clay a few inches down on my property. I have tried 7 or 8 different hybrids and all of them died shortly after planting. I ended up digging 3' x 3' holes and filling in with soil and carrying water. Didn't take long to decide to build a grow room. Best of luck!
Peace
I live in an area with sandy, hard clay soil. I've composted, amended with organic matter, added gypsum, you name it - and nothing has worked.
My best garden solution was to dig a trench and replace the soil with a mix of bagged soil and compost, but then the dry soil surrounding my wet garden actually seemed to wick the water away from the plants.
I have since given up on digging entirely and started putting large plastic pots in the ground with bagged soil inside them. The plant still looks like its planted in-ground but retains water much better with little or no soil compaction through the season.
I would suggest digging a hole, putting your pot into the hole and working through the season that way rather than fighting an uphill battle against the clay. You'll see better results and use about 1/4 as much water as you would in-ground.
I have clay in my yard..mexi seeds grow in it..had one sprout on its own and grow huge...yeehaw...I must have dumped some out there...very hardy plants...its happened before too...even had one grow in the crack in the concrete....don't know ace gear but something to think about...if I can say one good thing about decent mexi stock ..their rather tough plants...
something with vigor would work best, like a hybrid but if your soil is compacted why not dig it and improve it by adding compost or other bulky organic matter
gypsum will help clay by flocculating the particles but it takes years to have an appreciable effect
Anybody that cant grow in clay is a pretty poor grower, imo.
Cannabis has been used in the distant past to reclimate poor soils!
My natural soil is piss poor locked up by Ca & lacking in a bunch of micro nutes. I had it tested and was recommended to add a shit load of Sulfur amendment including 20lbs of ag sulfur & 10lbs gypsum over 1000sq/ft. (This was my vegi garden)
Same soil but for cannabis:
I used 1 wheelbarrow load of steer manure & a couple cups Gypsum over 60ish sq/ft, tilled to a depth of 8-10 inches. Also added a couple flakes off of a bale of alfalfa in that bed. I harvested a few autos & a few Blue Moonshine in two crops in one season.
Basically, you will need an N source, a Ca source & micros in hard soils. Mg makes soils compact while Ca makes your soils fluffy. Ca is easily tied up by P, hence, the additional Gypsum added to my soil.
Be careful using alfalfa flakes. Its easy to add too much, adding touch N to your soil. You'll have to judge for yourself how much to use.
The quality of the soil is a must to achieve a good harvest.
I would dedicate as much time as possible to improve the soil, and only then decide the genetics that are more suitable for your climate and your personal taste.
There's no point to get very good genetics if they are not going to be grown in a correct soil. Let us know if you have any doubt.
thanks for all the answers!! yes, the seeds i bogth from ace i will put in a very great prepareted soil with a 30L vase to get great results, to the bigger plants like golden tiger, Purple Haze x malawi, malawi, bangi haze i bogth vases with 110L to try to put then in bigger place but to try to do a very bigger thing i think i will have to plant some seeds in the unprepared but "selected" soil so i was just wanting to know what plant is more indicated to this situation ... i know the majority will be not good results
Your latitude is great to grow our most sativa strains.
If you amend the soil first it will help a lot the seedlings to grow up faster and go through the more compacted soil later.
