Thought I'd share a few picks of my garden at 3 weeks. For me it really gets interesting at this stage. Trichomes are just beginning to make an appearance and the buds are at that ready to take off stage.
Basically I'm flower under 2000 watts HPS Hortilux. I have a grow room about 12' x 18'
in this area my flowering area in about 6' x 10', also I have a separate veg chamber for bosaii moms, vegging and rooting etc. which is an enclosed closet like area about 8' x 2', the rest of the room holds storage, soil, fridged, work area and room to navigate.
Because I have a rather large growing room, heat and humidity is not much of an issue and I can get away with ventilating with a heavy duty bathroom fan that is hooked up to my cloths dryer venting system so it looks unremarkable from outside. No Co2 yet!
I'm growing in Pro-mix with added blood, bone meal and perlite. Plus a dash of dolomitic lime. Very simple.
During veg stage I fert with ph balanced water to about 6.0 give or take, which includes fish emulsion, Shultz liquid plant food, Pure Blend Pro, whatever I have laying around really. I think the key is to use a couple different ferts over the course of the grow to help ensure that you are providing as wide a range of nutrients as possible.
For flowering I'm using a couple of different product from Gro-Tek (1 Part), Gro-Tek Monster Bloom, some Fox Farm Big Bloom, and Shultz flowering ferts, also some Advanced Nutrients, a splash of this a dash of that really. Again I try to just switch what I use and I never mix different ferts together.
I'll try and post updates in a week or so, so we can see if I'm on the right track or not.
shrike...looking good...im in day 13 of flower...I hope mine pack on wight like yours...im using foxfarm big bloom tiger bloom botanicare sweet and Liquid Karma...my plants are over growing my area...bushy ash hell im more intrested in plants like yours tall single large colas....anyways good show..
Thanks for the words of encouragement. The plants this time round are a little large and untrained mostly because the plants started life as F1 hybrid beans and I wanted to get a good feel for the stature of the plants. Therefore no training.
The buds are are nice size for soilless, but I'd like to see how they do in a DWC by someone that has that system down pat. LOL
I do much prefer flowering rooted cuttings in SOG style not quite as tall as I've got this time and pruned for 1 big ass cola per plant, by removal of all side branches.
But I've been a little slow this year and I'm not planning another indoor grow this season.
The only problem I have now are what to do with the 20 or so rooted cuttings I've got laying around. I've definately got a few keeper cuttings that I'd like to keep for mothers.
I like what I see! It seems that since the exodus of OGers your thread only gets attention if its a 200W cab grow I'm glad to see someone still posting pics of a legit grow!
This is a test grow of Mango x Widow F1 cross I made last year. The lineage of the Mango and the Widow are not exactly known to me.
The results are pleasing to me in that I've still got the Mango smell with 5 of 6 girls and a much better stature than either the widow or the mango originals. I've not even sampled them yet.
I'm very surprised at the uniformity of the six girls although 1 has a much more sativa like cola and smells more like oil than mango. They all have and relatively large colas with few bud leaves, so they will trim up in just a few minutes. Moderately heavy trichome production. (Not as white as the original widows however but much larger buds.)
I've also got a big Jacks Surprise mother I'm flowering and a few widows for backcrossing.
