Best pricing on a quantity of lights?

:: Getting together a large grow in the near future. 18 1000's. My question is would there be an advantage or discount by going directly to a factory if they sell to the public. Talking high grade magnetic ballast with XL vented hoods. Going to cost a pretty penny no doubt. Unless there's a pretty good discount. I won't have a problem at all spending it with the local shops here in town.

For best bulk prices you can go on alibaba.com and order it all from a hydro place but shipping would be a killer unless you can fill a small shipping container and go by ship.

Alibaba is where most resellers get their stock direct from China.

You realize pretty much everything you buy is "China crap" right?

Give me a model and 4/5 of the time I can prove it's "China crap".

Sad but true in most if not all cases. Here's where they try to dupe ya. Assembled in the USA in bigger bolder letter's, Made in China in small letter's.

I'm basically trying to help you cut out the middle man resellers who rebrand Made in China shit and mark them up 50-200%.

I've already contacted a ballast manufacturer pretending to be a reseller and got samples for DE ballasts for $130 (30 of that was DHL shipping, it's even cheaper in bulk).

The sooner people stop falling for shit marketing and realize pretty much everything is imported, the more people'll save if they feel like it. Certainly not as simple as clicking buy off a website or eBay but it's only a few emails/messages and you can usually pay by paypal.

Ordering from China is fine if you're diligent, but doesn't seem worth it in this instance.

18 lights isn't exactly a lot. Definitely not enough to justify shopping via china import. See what the best deal local shops will offer, or order online and have it shipped somewhere.

$320/ea is what my buddy recently quoted me on 1k Mag HPS Ballast, Hortilux 1k EYE HPS Lamp, and King Cobra 6" Reflector. That was a QTY price similar to what your looking for.

PM me if ya are interested in his shop name. He's in your neck of the words if your in MI and could drop you a pallet for like $150/$200 shipping I'm guessing.. maybe less.

They pump out budget kits with normal sized 6" reflectors and cheaper lamps for $185/ea
1k Mag Ballast, Sunspot 6 Reflector, Optilume 1000w HPS Lamp.

18 lights would be about the size of a small ware house refit, ask some contractors to buy used, as many contractors are re installing cheaper alternatives

No advantage unless you get free shipping from China...

Easy to get 1000w systems at a hydro shop in the US for $180-$200 each, sometimes even cheaper online...

EVERYTHING comes from China and is just rebranded in America..

FF That's not a bad deal at $320. Unless it's way up in the you UP a drive would be worth it. Nothing in the Lower Peninsula was more than 4 hours drive away. Next time this ones underway

De bulbs would allow you to buy less lights for the same light normal 1k covers 4x4 a de can cover 5x5 you could save some money on that deal plus the bulbs last like 2 years that saves you some real cash when you don't have to replace them every 8 crops instead of every 2 crops . Kinda sucks that you will have to buy more bags to keep that bomb bomb in lol. I love those problems

Definitely been looking in the double ended fixtures. Do these take a completely different ballast than a single ended or is it possible to just change the fixtures somehow.

I run sunlight ac/de de air cooled hoods with nanolux de ballasts and ushio super de bulbs over 4x4 areas and absolutely kill it. I was getting 2 per light with hydrofarm raptors/ggl ballasts and now I'm getting 2.5 all day. They are absolutely worth it. My hydro store out here puts their large customers on a prime program and you get everything not much more than wholesale. I get everything at least 30% off the sunlight/hydrofarm catalog price. Ive never personally tried to run a de bulb on a regular ballast. They make de only ballast so I'm assuming you shouldn't run a de bulb off a regular digital ballast. From what I have heard from talking with people that is the case but who knows maybe you can. De stuff is really hard to get right now because everyone is upgrading and buy them. I go to a big hydro store that has a few locations and they couldn't get me gavita ballasts or hydrofarm phantom de's until the next shipment gets in, which they couldn't give me a date on.
