SATIVA'S & INDICA'S ? - Whats the best strains ( i dont mean a few plants you grew once, im talking several grows or a few years experience with a strain in order to compare it to the others you grown) as far as yield, ease of growth, mildew resistance, disease/pest resistance and overall quality ? If your a year-to-year outdoor grower then you may have allready done this selection process & found your best overall producers. I felt this could provide the occasional or annual personal stash grower that doesn't grow enough to experiment with strains a heads up so as not to throw away money w/bad seed choices and risk freedom for low yields or poor quality . THANKS

I got Dr.Greenthumb.coms best outdoor strain, its called Huron [Niagra x Whitewidow] its mold/pest resistant and for me a newbie grower has worked out wonderfuly so far. The flowering is very rapid and the leaves are already stating to sugar up just 2-3 weeks into flowering. I havnt harvested yet but i expect a fairly large yeild after 3-4 more weeks. i know it might not help completely but i can vouche for its performance thus far. White widdow is known for potency and the niagra is the sativa influce its supposed to be a 4/5 so again i will tell you once i finish.

ohh the other great thing is they are only 60$ for 10 cad funds. great deal imho

thats my long high 2 cents. :lurk: :joint: :pointlaug

heres one of my trees lol

:woohoo:

c99 is my overall fav. it does great for me. the only down side to it is slightly smaller yields than other strains and it needs major staking \tying in flower. but it does well with mold in the NE. i never have lost more than a few small buds worth off a c99 to mold where as other strains in same plot were ruined.

i too would say Cinderella 99 does remarkably well outside. It's fast, mold resis, and I got decent yields. The indicas are great but high maintenance!

Sativa: C99 is excellent, fruity, early, potent decent yielder..mold resistant...Indica: HG Fantaseeds Afghani, early, super potent and high yielding...some seriously strong weed...half a j and its lights out!

i can add plenty here , but much of the info will be irrelavent to growers in the northern hemis phere i think , unless the live in a tropical zone ... which i think will again vary from the southern hemisphere to the northern ..
so many variations can influence your final outcome with cannabis ,,i notice even valley to valley rainfall and climate can change quite a lot ...
so things that work for me in my climate may not be a good choice necessarily for someone else ...

but i will post som e pix and info on some i found were my favourite to grow and why ...

ok t hen ,, the following plants were from a cross of a local sativa here , most of u guys would probably call it a haze of sorts i guess ,, but for us it was just a mango sativa that we have seen many times ...
i crossed it with afghani and these were the results ...

now the pros and cons ....

the plants grew at an almost alarming rate ,some reaching over 4 metres before flowering ..
the buds were just lovely ,, huge fat things all the way up the plants , but seemed not to smell very much ...
they handled everything the wet season threw at them , and kept standing and resisted moulding ...
so for me it was a great strain to handle the time of year and deliver some great looking herb ...
;except ........

i thought the bud lacked taste and didnt deliver the sort of stoned i wanted from it ...
we cured some and found that improved it some but i was still not that happy ...
although the parent mango had a beautiful sativa stoned to it that just made u buzz ,, the afghani strain the father came from i thought lacked potency ...
i think a better choice of male would have made this cross a lot better , more what i expected it to be ...

i have had to make a few considerations with which strain or s trains to grow ..
as anyone that grows an amount o f cannabis will h ave too ...

what does the public want ??
is it better to go for yeild and not worry as much about potency ???

yes i have to agree with the folks here about cindy ...
she is a great outdoor plant , even in the tropics with short days that make her flower even on the longest days of the year .. u can still get a reasonable sized to good sized plant ...
most of the c99 i grow averages 3- 4 oz per plant ..
but when the days are longer they can have up to and over half a pound on them ...

my thoughts were to grow strains like c99 as it is what the man on the street wants to smoke it seems ,, he will dig a b it deeper into his pocket for some of this , so less yeild will not matter as much , what u loose on the hurdy gurdy , u will catch up with on the merry go round ...

here are a few s hots of c99 growing on my longest days ...

These pics were taken on July 18th. This strain will finnish up around September 7 - 10th........getting me out of the bush before the bad weather sets in.
The colas are this strain can run as long as 18 inches and the taiste is strong and hashy.........very similar to the Afghani.
