I am setting up a new grow room, and decided on using a large grow tent.I heard all have small light leaks, some cant handle much weight, and also some give off fumes that will harm the plants.

So i am wondering who makes the best tents, with the least amount of light leaks, doesnt emitt harmful fumes ,strong and have a quality construction.Price isnt an issue.I am looking for the best tent on the market.

Im thinkin of swithcin to a tent to man. just makes life easier. go to superponics.com. i personally like the super tent that holds 24 buckets and two 600w HPS. let me know if you find anything better or like it.

Secret Jardin used to be the one, now I guess Grow Lab is equal or better.

Never had a Gro Lab, but I'm loving the Secrete Jardin and the Home Box as well.
The SJ has better access with its doors, but the HB seems better quality, especially the zippers. I'd recommend either one.
FWIW, if you can build your room with sheetrock and 2x6, or 2x4 walls, your WAY better off, IMO, if not, tents will work WELL!

I've only got a first generation SecretJardins DR60 (2'x2'x5') and I've gotta say I was impressed. I'd almost be comfortable lifting myself up from the roof bars and I'm ~150lbs. Of course that has to do with only being a 2'x2', the bigger you go the weaker it's going to be obviously. Minor light leaks around the zipper seam like everything else, although nothing major or anything to worry about. I am extremely pleased and my next tent will definitely be another SecretJardins DR. The 2nd generation DR just came out, and are supposed to be 3x better than the originals. Whether or not that's true or just a marketing scheme (probably) I'd be more than willing to shell out the cash for another. As soon as I have room SecretJardins will be getting more of my money.

All that said, I've never used/seen any other tent on the market so I have nothing to compare my tent to. Best of luck!

I can only speak from experience for tents that are 10x10 or smaller.. but Hydro Huts are the way to go. The Secret Jardin's leak light through the zipper and are not reinforced enough. The Hydro Huts are thicker, better quality and worth the little extra!

New version of the SJ, much thicker bars and corners, thicker fabric and improved seams on zipper. No light leaks from anywhere yet, but have a pin hole on the door. I like it better than hydrohut, seems like the same fabric. Its thicker than the old stuff for sure....

LeeROI: So Im quessing you are in favor of the Grow Lab?
I haven't voted because I think it depends upon what size tent we are talking about. In the smaller sizes (up to and including a DR120) I'd vote for the new DarkRooms. In a bigger size I like my HydroHut 4' x 6' (nominal).

Grow Labs look good but I've never heard a good reason for the plastic windows other than for curious friends to cause hermies for you.
:) I guess you could check to see if the lights need to be raised without releasing stench or CO2 if supplementing but it's not like you could detect mites from the window.

For big heavy tents, there are the SJ Mammoths and HydroHut has a new biggy.

For me, the best tent is the right size to fit my space, has good access in that given space (physical and venting), and supports the weight I need to hang.

I am not using a Jardin and love it.
Had a Sunhut that was great, except impossible to take down.
I guess after a couple years of heat and light inside made it less flexible?

No way to take it down, this was with 3 very strong men trying

I'm guessing that is a typo on your third word. The SunHut must have rusted the frame together? That would be an advantage of plastic corners.

Secret Jardin leaks a pinhole here and there but it's the only one I've tried.

No real complaints here, it's done everything I needed it to do without letting me down.

I have a sun hut 2x4 4x4 4x8

I like them I don't think I can hang heavy shit on them.

But I bought one and it came rusty the guy at the shop gave me some money back almost half and I kept it.

1 round and I can buy another one.

I have used both the old hydro hut and the SJ and the canvas on the sj was sooo thin and after a few times of putting up and taking down it has worn has pin holes.. but if they did make the canvas on the new ones better that would be a good deal. but the hydro hut is strong as hell and very nice.
Hold your fire.. how do you like the homebox? i am looking for a smaller tent height wise and SJ stopped making the tent that i was looking at and replaced it with the DR90 and after looking around i found a homebox that will fit in my space and i have looked around and cant find the new homebox with the silver inside and the white canvas kinda puts me off with all the off gassin stuff that was going on. Have you had any problems with yours?
