Boating accident yesters. Anyone just need to hear positive things. Much love and glad I have you guys. I have never watched someone fight for life and to breath knowing that this was it at 37, Brett Gordon, pray ? Is it better to just pass or to live like you never could have with so much life.

That's very bad news, and I am very sorry. Give your friend the support they need, and help them adapt to whatever comes next. With enough support, your friend can still live a long and happy life. I wish them a strong spirit and hope they get a helping hand in their recovery and future.

Was just reading over the board irieeyes and saw this. There are times when I have tried to put myself in that situation where I lost my ability to get around and go places, and it's very difficult, even painful to think about. I hope your friend somehow recovers and pray for him something good will happen.

Thats a real drag hope your friend doesnt suffer too much and take care of yourself I lost a friend earlier this summer and it was really sad times. We need to live everyday because one never knows when some bad shit gonna come their way.

Thanks guys it's like being numb it comes in waves the reality of the situation. I just cant imagine not ever hearing my friends voice or seeing him come over it's very surreal, bad dream. Thanks for the prayers and kind words. I am going to go tomorrow to the hospital to bring music, some matisyahu and just talk story and hope he can hear my words and let him know im there. Sorry to hear this, he sounds like a strong man, he will need to be. Give him loads of support. I have a friend who is paralised from the waist down, strongest guy I ever knew, much more able bodied than most people round here. He refuses perscription drugs to stop spasms in his legs, reckons MJ is the answer. Wishing him well.

Horrible .. but a blessing from God that he is alive

I know exactly how difficult it is .. been there with a friend who was in a car accident .. coded out, nearly died 5 times .. woke up fully paralyzed .. couldnt lift a finger

He turned 30 in the hospital

God bless his wife .. she really rallied .. had 2 very young children ... his Mom, family and friends were all heartbroken - but rallied too, and we all were soooo happy to have him alive and around - we all did what we could

Life is incredibly fragile .. and could be lost instantly

For injuries like this - we all owe a great deal of thanks to Christopher and Dana Reeves who really brought the publics attention to spinal paralysis, helped raise a tremendous amount of money, brought great doctors together and really helped advance the science in finding a cure for spinal paralysis and all those who suffer

My friend made it home to his family ... and his friends .. who all gathered around and loved him .. Everyday was and is a gift from God

Unfortunately, he only survived for a year ... and is no longer with us

Celebrate life .. and be there for your friend
