Best Duct Muffler? Sounds like a jet engine...

So I can hear my shit outside, which isn't good. It's a 10 inch vortex right now, and I think the loudest part is the air coming out the attic, not actually the fan. I am planning on getting one of those super gnarly 12'' fans, insulating the box, and hanging it from bungies, but what is the best way to take care of that exhaust noise, do duct mufflers work well without restricting airflow?

It's a 10x13 room basically, with a huge can filter...also thinking about ozone for smell but I'm not sure if it's worth the money or if I should just invest in the better fan/soundproofing....help? :joint:

i use premade duct mufflers on the exhuast of my big fans and yes, they significantly cut down on noise. you can quite easily make them yourself because they are absolute ripoffs to purchase, (but im an idiot and buy them anyways because i hate driving around to hardware stores to get parts) and theres a good tutorial here on icmag.

a good fan/filter combo will negate you need for ozone

Sweet thanks Freezer, I made one of these a while back for a 6'', just wasn't sure if there was a more efficient option... looks like that's the way to go, hopefully it will be quiet enough...
