whats the best cheap air cooled hood.. gotta buy 6 matching ones.. and a flip flop. was thinking cheap but think some might be too small for 1000w for a even spread.. anyone ?

Hydrofarm Radiants. I've found them on CL as cheap as $20/ea.
Also one of the cheaper ones new. They're quality.
Google "greners reflector test" for a good comparison. They took a light meter and tried a bunch of hoods. 2nd or 3rd hit should have the actual chart. 1st hit has it in text form.

With a 6" tube, your bulbs will heat up your glass a lot more than an 8 or a 10 would, which will significantly reduce the efficacy of the setup. 6" is more trouble than its worth, imo. Plus, you can also dial an 8" or 10" down to pull the same air a 6 would at half the decibel rating, 6"ers roar. I regret going 6". Can't wait to upgrade.

I got these cheap-o ones. do the trick but can only really compare to my old mag ballasts.
I hooked up 4 with one 6 inch inline fan but I guess the run was to long with 2 bends so the room was always in the 90 degree +. which isn't that bad with co2 still got a good harvest but ended up only running 3 lights by the end. i had to add a second 6 inch inline fan and now everything is gravy. so ya i would not put more then 3 on the same fan.

I'm currently running that style hood(cool tube build into hood), and it works great. I think I found it for around $70 on Amazon
