Best Carbon Scrubber+Fan sub $250

What is the best Carbon Air Filter with fan below $250 shipped? I am leaning towards this

1. 15lb 400cfm

This comes with an 8 or 6 inch air duct.

or

2. 6" Goblin

I contacted HTG to find out the dB rating of this fan. I need something fairly quiet.

Also, I will need a fan controller. Can someone suggest one?

Advice appreciated.

OK i am leaning towards the HTG Grow Bright 6' fan + Goblin filter combo. The vortex style fans seem to be better engineered, and this one comes with a warranty.

Input Appreciated!

I just bought the Growbright 6" fan + Goblin 14lb carbon filter combo. Now all I need to find is a cheap fan controller. I will let you know how it all turns out.

Ok I have the Growbright fan and goblin carbon filter from HTG in place. Man its pretty damn loud. What do you guys do to dampen the noise? I bought a fan controller, and when I turn the fan lower than full speed it starts to vibrate alittle and that vibrates a whole floor board and is louder than it is at full speed. So at 20% power, the fan is twice as loud as full power lol, sucks.

Anything you guys do to dampen noise>?

What about the sunleaves wind tunnels?? They have a plastic casing and are supposed to be pretty quiet....The 6in. 409 cfm model is $179.00...They also have a 4in. 200 cfm model for $130.00

Try suspending it from bungee cords so that the vibration doesn't travel. You can also get little rubber pads that do the same thing.

If it's loud as in air woosh, try a duct muffler.

I had to move the whole setup off the ceiling, and place it on the ledge. This way the sound didn't travel through the floor joist. Also I duct taped the center part of the inline fan several times, that lowered a lot on the vibration noise. Also I put fiber glass insulation on the ceiling on the parts near the fan. Now I cannot hear it from upstairs at all. Hooray!
