G

Guest 18340

Im in the process of building an 8 pot bubbler system. The pots are 5 gallon buckets. And i have rez so they'll all be hooked together. What is the best airpump i can buy to power the 8 airstones? Ill spend upwards of $150. if i have to :joint:

what are the best QUIET pumps? i've been buying the "whisper" brand ones and they're good for a month or two and then they get just as loud as the cheap crappy ones. anyone have a recommendation for a quiet one that actually stays quiet? i have a microgrow with 3 1g tubs so i don't need anything real powerful either.

thanx mtnjohn. Yeah i see them at walmart. The setup is in my garage so a quiet/noisy pump doesnt matter as long as its powerful AND reliable.

I'd recommend one pump per bucket, especially if you're using a 5 gallon bucket. The more air you give each bucket, the more air the roots recieve and your girls grow bigger.

If you want the best pump for that much $, you could get an industrial style one like the one steel posted. However, be warned, they are very loud. I use a Ecoplus 12w ($24) for up to 20gal. It has a rheostat to adjust the output if needed and stays pretty quiet in comparison to the industrial ones and GH pump. It doesn't put out nearly as much air though.

Noise and output are related, if you want tons of power you are going to sacrifice having a quiet pump.

The air pump that comes with the waterfarm 8-site kit is great. Should fall under ur budget also. It has 4 outlets and dual bladder. You can easily run 2 lines from each outlet and there is LOTS of air pressure.

Alitas are by far the best airpumps imho. Their airstones are amazing too.

outdoor koy pumps are normally pretty good, quiet or can be boxed for outside useand have long extension cords but are expensive the cheeper seem to get louder as time passes... On Ebay its possiable to find recon pumps made by companys like resun/ hydor.

if you dont mind the noise you can get cheep china compressors if you want your res to look like a spa.
