Best Ace Seed for Tropical Island?

S

strandloper

I am looking for something that will be able to withstand the intense rain and humidity on Kauai.

In December it can get extremely rainy. Some years it can rain for over a week straight. Some years its more dry. Temps range from 65 to 85 degrees. We are at 22 degrees North.

I am thinking something with the most Koh Chang in it.
Or maybe OT Haze.

It has to be fully mold resistant.

Any suggestions??

I'd go with thai or mostly thai, like PHxT or Double Thai.
Early december? Who knows, maybe a bit early.

Yeah, December average rain on Kauai is like 6 -8 inches.
Even November is risky with flash floods.
The PHxT looks like it would go into January.
Which is the more fluffy and airy Thai that looks like bamboo?
That's what I need.

Aloha

Have you seen Cannabiogen Ghana? Can't go wrong with purple haze thai is made for the worst downpours. I think since your further south than Spain your plants will start to bud faster. You can finish by Dec 1 or mid Nov at the earliest I think.

I think the Laos Luang prabang sativa has been described as having a bamboo like growth structure.

Hi strandloper,

For outdoor growing in a tropical rainy climate, we recommend tropical sativas like Golden Tiger, Guatemala, Malawi, Oldtimer's Haze, Purple Haze Thai, Zamaldelica, Panama Haze, Purple Haze Malawi and even hybrids like Congo, Haze x Kali China, Panama, Tikal, etc ...

You have plenty to choose, so i would recommend you to choose the genetics from this list that suits your taste more based on the strain description.

Let me know if you have any other doubt.

Kind regards

Thanks for the reply,

I was thinking that the stuff with Haze in it may flower too long.
The plant really needs to be done by the beginning of December because the rains become really intense then.

From what I have read I am leaning toward Guatamala and Malawi. But I really would like a Thai strain

Would any Thai or Lao strains be done by the early December?

Thanks for your help.

I'm thinking of growing a Durban Poison and hitting up with a male Golden Tiger.

I'm going to try and combine GT's goodness with Durban's early flowering and mold resistance.

Where I live on Kauai a plant needs to be done by October because of the rain.

Good luck strandloper

about auto-flowers from zamal :

I have had a zamal hybrid 3 cut in a 50x50 pot riviera) that gave me 60 g at 32 days of flo 80 gr at 53 days & 60 g at 110 days...and finally I can reverse it (hard to kill !) more than 200g for three cut with only 15 days of veg ! this was a thc factory !

33 days of flo :

auto flo with zamal (south africa strains do this too ) is not what some experiment with ruderalis.

the difference is that the strain is growing & flowering in the same time

that type of strain can yield more than one kilogramme per (1,25 x 1.25) m² local with 600 w HPS with 120 days from clone (within 15-20 days of veg).

THC factory !

this hybrid was 25 % pure zamal mango-carrotte imported directlty from the isle of the réunion in 2005-2006

the best of my exerience with zamal is here.

Hi strandloper,

You are right: Haze, Thai and their dominant crosses usually don't finish before December.

If you are looking for good sativas than finish before Dec then Malawi, Panama, Guatemala, Congo, Zamaldelica, Golden Tiger, Tikal and Bangi Haze are better choices.
