benefits of Co2 injection?

B

BlueberryNutz

i have never done a grow with Co2 and was thinking about doing an injection system and was wondering what sort of benefits i will get from it. im assuming stuff like faster growth and bigger yields but to what extent?

and also, i would like to say that i have a hydro hut and i heard all the bad shit about them. i bought mine over a year ago and have only grown in it one time. i didnt notice any problems so im assuming mine is fine but could it be cuz all the ventilation? i had air cooled hoods with a scrubber so im worried that if i seal it up it might give me problems. any suggestions?

as you can see everything was very green and healthy. do you think mine is ok then?

i read somewhere that the average growth rate increases anywhere from 100-300%(most around 100) and yields up to 50% but i was just wondering how it works out for you guys

Co2 is supposed to increase yeilds by 30%, and from what I've seen, I'd believe it. Co2 works best during the high transpireation rate in flower. During this phase the plants stomata ( the pores ) on the leaves are open at their fullest to expell water vapor, and also to take in Co2 as fast as possible. Think of it as the how a plant breathes, some pores expell Oxygen and water vapor, while others take in Co2 out of the air. The more Co2, the more and quicker the plant is able to process food into plant material or biomass. Keepin temps up around 85-90 degrees will also help these pores stay open to their fullest. You only want to run those temp when you -are- runnin Co2. When the plant suddenly slows way down on taking water this means the high transpireation phase is over, so the need for extra Co2 is no longer needed. At this point the plant is done bulking up and should be checked with a trich -o- meter for correct trichome color. I hope that makes sense to ya? Good luck! BC

Great info, thanks...I'm sold, just need to figure out which model generator and controller for my 1000 cubic foot room (suggestions welcome).

i may have to ask the misses for an injection system and evc2 for christmas lol.

30% is still a very good amount of gain. well worth the initial investment imo

CO2 will work when all of your other environmentals are in good order. If you've got poor lighting, inappropriate nutrients, pests...that sort of thing, it'll be an equivocal difference. However, if your plants are in good to excellent shape...they'll absolutely benefit from the addition of CO2 on the order of what was described before: 30%. Additionally, if you have poor or little ventilation, CO2 can be a helpful because it will supplant what's missing.

CO2 will mostly speed up the metabolism so harvest comes sooner. The Plug 'n' Grow system is reliable. Unless you need to provide for more patients then you can currently provide for, the investment may not be worth it. If you are good with the system you do, CO2 is the next level. I hope I didn't sound like Im knockin yes or no.

So I'd rather not vent my room to outside (aside for the air-cooled lighting, but that just goes to the basement) for stealthness, I really have no choice but to do a sealed/co2 room...correct?

or set ur timers on ur exhaust fans to turn off while co2 is running, and then to turn back on a lil while after the co2 stops running.
and where my bro access was absolutely correct with everything he said,i would also add that the co2 can be used to suffocate bugs/mites if you flood the room with it during lights off.this would be really bad and unhealthy for ur plants to do with lights on...however during the dark cycle plants dont use or consume co2 so it wouldnt hurt ur plants ,only pests.
hope this lil bit of info can help ya maing.peace
