Bending main stem, when?

Hi this is my first post and grow. I'm growing in an improvised and uneven corner of my basement. mylar and duct tape! They're pretty massive in width.

Strain is two plants of mekong high in 11liter pots, supercropped at 30cm then put into flowering day after under a 600w full spectrum hps bulb. They're now at 23 days into flowering but might continue stretching for another 10 days +, they're are 142 cm right now. But I only have about 25 cm more to raise the lights, and might have to bend the main stem. Should I do it now or when they max out the grow room?

(maybe i should create a grow thread, cause I'll probably have more questions?) Thanks for help!

Hey maxlor,Nice plants! Id bend them now. As much as you can with the main stem, it may be to tough to bend. You can tie down those side branches though and that will open them up to more light.

Hey nice legs on those ladies, but sativas don't half stretch and your's are as sativa as they come. I would do as apep says and bend now because the further into there life cycle the woodier they become. I would try and find a nice supple spot, which will probably be towards the tops and bend very carefully, very slowly. Then tie down to an anchor point.

As apep says you could also bend the side colas down abit to fill out your space a bit more, but don't snap the colas, I have done this a few times, obviously a clean break is non salvagable, but I have bandaged up a bad break and the top finished fine.

But ideally any bending methods should be done during veg.

Hope this helps

Thanks for the replies, it worked out pretty great I think. Does this decrease yield on these main colas? they seem to get more light and the buds have all turned toward the light.

Pictures are from today day 29 of flowering, and the plants are still growing, but slower.

Accidently nute burnt them+ salt buildup however. Canna flushed them 2 days ago, 11 liter canna flush then 11 liter ph controlled water hope theyll be alright and dont go hermie on me.... :watchplant:

The bud sites are now covering a 1.1x 1.3meter grow area overall, and are around 150cm high after tie down. will anyone dare to guess yield! most of the important bud sites are all within 10-25 cm from eachother under the light. I tied them to even the canopy. Theres like fifteen 30-45cm long buds.

Thanks again for the help:)

It shouldn't really decrease yeilds, but should increase!! I never really like to guess on yields because I always end up dissapointed. There is still along way to go on them yet so I would say a close estimate at the moment is impossible.
Are you talking major nute burn or just the tiny tips being burnt. If it's just a small amount of burn I wouldn't worry too much at all.

Have fun

You can see two worst leaves on the first and second pic, most leaves didn't get any kind of damage. a few tips, and like 4-5 leaves that got 20% damaged. I flushed them pretty fast after I saw it in the morning. So they seem alright now... I did supercrop them pretty hard so that was also stress, now some more. Can't help but worry!

Hey just been looking closely at your photos and on the second post, 1st picture the cola centre bottom seems to be a potassium deficiancy, not nute burn. Do a search in google for plant defiancy marijuana or the chart maybe on here somewhere.

Maxlor I ain't no expert myself but I would try and get a second opinion. Also over ferting of certain chemicals can lock out other nutrients from being soaked up. Hence you can have nute burn and a defiancy at the same time. Unless it get's any worse they are some pretty looking ladies.

Like you have done a flush and a restart of nutes should be really good for them! And don't stress yourself ha ha, aslong as they are good genetics they should pull through. I have only ever had hermies due to light leaks which resulted in all female seeds !! Cannabis is a very resilient plant and can take a real beating before things are beyond repair.
