Being televised on NBC, somewhere around 3:45 Pacific, 6:45 Eastern. Last Triple Crown winning horse was way back in 1978, these are few and far between. California Chrome has won the first 2 legs of the TC, if he wins today....as stonedtrout would say...yeehaw.

Go California Chrome!

:cuss:

Chrome came in 5th.

EDIT: Was it 6th S4L? Don't matter...no triple crown today.

you're correct, 5th place :)

apparently Chrome's owner Steve Coburn is a very sore loser.

EDIT:
now being called a dead heat for 4th place.

stick around folks, we may crown him winner yet....... :)

The weather preempted the race in my city because we had tornados on the ground, and sirens going off across the city. The last two hours I have been amazed to see all the grown adults berating and cursing at the weather people via social media.

Never really saw the appeal of horse racing myself, but to each their own!

I don't follow horse racing really, but I watched because it could have been an historic moment. Accomplished only 12 times. I was a little disappointed it did not happen. Coburn is pretty outspoken, he blasted Churchill Downs after the KY Derby. I think he's right about a horse's triple Crown eligibility, but it's always been that way.

At a mile & a half, the Belmont is a different race than either the Preakness (1-3/16 miles) or the Derby (1-1/4 miles). Lots of winners of both of the shorter races have been beaten by horses with more stamina in the Belmont, horses that ran all three races.

Yeah, they had 2 handicappers give their predictions before the race, these guys weren't going with the emotional pick, one picked Wicked Strong and the other picked Tonalist or something like that.
