Belladonna?

Yeah, I'm leaving this a little late. Going to Amsterdam for my 50th birthday on May 6 and I'm curious whether any coffeeshops are carrying Belladonna (Paradise Seeds strain). Not the seeds - those I have - but the herb itself. I would like to have a taste to get an idea what I might harvest this fall.

My apologies to those reading this twice. I have already posted this question in the Worldwide Cannabis forum but time is limited and I thought someone on this forum might have recent info.

Thanks, two heads

Man...I didn't care for it. It got tossed out after a couple of runs, but it was a m-fer to trim. Didn't live up to the description, but then again...it didn't make it for further runs.

I hope you enjoy it though....ya never know.

I tried it last year but the slugs got every plant. I was looking forward to a trippy high but it sounds like it might be a lot of trimming for nought. We'll see come fall. Hopefully I find some in A'dam. Thanks for the quick input.

most strains in coffeeshops have some kind of nickname.. you could be smoking belladona while calling it "skunky white" or " trippy bud" you know what im saying..
so im pretty sure you wont find proper belladonna in coffeshops..

hey TH i remmember your swamp growing thread.. respect

Ive grown belladonna outside.. its not very mold resistant, flowers are leafy but very frosty.. the taste is cool but the high isnt a true blast (on the sativa side) .. i found it too clear to be considerable..

two heads,

most likely you will not find any belladonna in the coffeeshops

I just got back from there and did not see it anywhere, or have I ever seen
it or heard about it in the last 5 years, at least not in coffeshops

if you have a chance take the train to haarlem, 10 minutes from amsterdam
and go to willie wortels sativa and indica coffeeshops and smoke their
amnesia haze and nevilles's haze, that is some really killer bud

as far as belladonna there are a few threads in this forum, just use the search
option and you can read what other growers think of it

Thanks everyone. I'm sure I'll find lots of good herb in A'dam in May but I guess I'll have to wait till October in Ontario to try Belladonna - if the slugs don't get it first!

Respect back at ya WAMEN. Thanks for the grow report. Unfortunately, as you and Miss Blunted suggest, it sounds exactly the opposite of how it is advertised by Paradise seeds. I'll run a swamp thread again this season and hopefully have some Bellas to report on myself come fall.

South Florida, we'll be renting Dutch bikes (we're big cyclists) and I've been contemplating a bike trip to Haarlem as it is only about 10k away. Do you know if there is a bike route connecting A'dam and Haarlem?

Hi there,

It's about 18-19km from Amsterdam centre to Haarlem, and I'd like to do it on a bike one day myself!

Ciao

if you have your back to A'dam central station turn right and start peddaling, you'll find the bike sign posts soon enough (make sure you're heading in the right direction by stopping at Barneys for breakfast ) .. be sure to be travelling AWAY from the red light district.. which actually is ALWAYS good advice

half way you'll arrive at a place called "half way".. which is nice, because then you know you're half way...errm (Halve Weg)

Sorry guys, but I don't know how Barney's has (still) got such a positive reputation for its breakfasts. They're poor quality and very expensive for what they are.

The last time I had one was in 2001 and I wasn't impressed then!

I think Barney's breakfast has become famous in the Dam, because it was traditionally the earliest opening coffeeshop and so people went there very early to start smoking, and have a breakfast there too.

Plus, when I last had a breakfast there, I was used to low-quality English standards, now I'm used to Italian standards and I wouldn't eat a breakfast at Barney's if I was paid!!

No offence guys, but I just don't want the general population of stoners thinking there's anything special about breakfast at Barney's!!

hehe
:D

when i was having a breakfast at barneys at one of my first visits to dam loong time ago, the establishment got robbed at knifepoint by some junkies. i almost choked on the stale beans and toast.

it was an interesting start to that week.

I'm back, no belladonna but lots of nice hazes to take my mind off that disappointment. I have also mailed some Lemon Skunk seeds from DNA back to myself for this year's crop. Hopefully they arrive without issue. (UPDATE: they arrived intact exactly a week after I mailed them from A'Dam! Good old Canadian and Dutch mail systems!)

My son and I did the ride to Haarlem - it was about 20k with the wind on our backs there and the same back with a wicked head wind. Not a hill in sight though!

Here's our bikes:

...and a little of the Super Lemon Haze we enjoyed in Westerpark on the way there:

Thanks for the belladonna pics Thaifighter!

Ive smoked white widow and belladonna grown together under the same very good conditions, and the belladonna (paradise seeds) was like smoking trim compared to the white widow (snow-white seeds).. :2cents:

Best of luck finding though.. Im sure youll find so much good smoke youll forget your even growing it :)

Well, I'm not a big fan of smoking trim...

I guess I'll know sometime in October whether the belladonna was worth it.

Thaifighter, is that belledonna in those pics? i have grown this strain several times and have never seen it produce buds that look anything like those. mine were all bushy plants, very leafy, thick.....

also, belledonna was just another disappointment to me. i kept trying to find that one that would give a "trippy" high, but gave up the search.
