Hello everyone!!
Well it's time for a variety grow!! My last harvest was a single strain started from seed and although providing some variation between phenos....I'm ready for a true variety of strains to choose from.
Since JLP was kind enough to provide a couple of hundred of us(LOL) with his gourmet beans...Mississippi Mud was first on the list of new genetics to be given a shot along with Belladonna and Durga Mata from Paradise Seeds.
Three seeds of each strain were sown and all nine sprouted within 48 hrs. The Belladonna and Durga Mata seeds were purchased from Hemp Depot over a year ago and had no problems cracking... I have no idea how long BP had before shipping, but I am pleased to say there wasn't any problem with germing 'em. I knew JLP's wouldn't have a problem!!!
Gemination was done in 1 1/2" rockwool cubes in a tray w/lid and a seedling heating mat from Hydrofarm. The seedlings were cracked and up in two to three days and on day four, the lid and heating mat were removed to prevent mold or fungus attack.....
All plants showed vigorous growth during the vegetation period. On day seven from seed, the rockwool cubes were placed in 6" net cups filled with Hydroton and placed in a Hydrofarm MegaGarden. As the plants grew larger, ...four plants went in one and five in the other MegaGarden. As for my water cycles,...I've always used fifteen minutes of feeding per hour during the light cycle and only twice during the rest period...that's what has always worked for me anyway. During the first two weeks my EC(700) was always between 400 and 600. While in the middle to late vegetation cycle, I'll bump it up to a max of 1.2. Since I'm feeding so often, the EC is kept to a low/moderate level and along with flushes every 10-14 days...the plants stay healthy, strong and thriving...
Day ten from seed
Day 28
Day 38
Dr. Atomic's Blueberry x Nothern Lights rejuvenating mom going rather well...also incuded in the vegetation chamber...
Somewhere between week 4 1/2 and 5, two Mississippi mud males were discovered and cut down...which leaves me with 7 plants so far... I believe there is only one plant left where I'm still waiting to figure "it" out...LOL... Believe it or not, I like to wait until I'm sure it's a male before yanking it. I've been surprised more than once when being patient.....
Transplanted and in Flower on Day 46...
During the flower cycle the plants were transplanted to the Eurogrower and the 6" net pots were placed in their individual buckets, again using Hydroton only as the medium. The drip system runs 24 hrs with a EC(700) of 1.6-2.0 max.... As for the nutrients being used, both Flora Nova Grow and Bloom are/were used...along with Kool Bloom and Sweet in moderation during the flower cycle. Bill's Perfect Fertilizer is also used on occasion as a foliar application. Temps have ranged from 60-75 degrees F.
During the next few days, I'll be cutting some clones to go back into the veg chamber. I'll get some more pics and info up as this grow progresses...
Well that pretty much has you guys up to date!!!! I hope this hasn't sounded too much like a tutorial...that isn't the intent, but hopefully...some of you may read this and get a few tips as I did when starting out and full of wonder...LOL
Cheers!!
