BELL SIPHON's: can it work in a 5gl bucket?

decided to start this thread because ive been searching and didn't find anything pertaining to this particular question about how tall can or should a bell siphon actually be.

im going to using 5gl buckets to grow my vegetables besides cannabis for an aquaponics project in the foreseeable future. I may even use them in 2gl buckets as well for other grow areas. in my research ive seen how others have used trays and pebbles as grow media and I still want to keep that DWC style of growing.

the other thing ive noticed is that due to the use of trays, most bell siphons are usually between 6' and 8' in height but for my uses/purposes im going to need them to be atleast 10' or higher.

the local home depot normally has wood scraps but not pvc or electrical conduit scraps of any kind for me to experiment with so I figured i'd try my luck with IC and see what I come up with.

im not looking for a better way, easier way or another way. I don't mind doing the work for each bucket but before I go buying various lengths of pvc experimenting im trying to see if anyone has had any prior experience with bell siphons of the heights I mentioned.

ive done the research on the workings of the bell siphons and I would imagine that it would work BUT wanted experienced confirmation if it is to be had. im going to continue my searching for the information im seeking and add what I find to the thread

so please share experience's, information, ideas and concepts that are note worthy. any and all help is greatly apreciated
