Being paranoid utilities guy might turn me in

Well had to let the utilities guy in to do some things, thought I had everything hidden but had old plant stems I didn't notice he saw as well as a 8'x4' Hydrohut in there. Nothing in the hut but he saw the ballast next to it.

Also had to deny him going upstairs.

To me everything just screams out with the stems the hut ballast and me denying access, not sure if I should tear down or just keep going.

Medical Grower but in a hostile county.

why do you have to have a utility guy come INTO your place?....

how do you forget you have an 8x4 hydrohut laying out?

I didn't forget about the hut, forgot about the stems and the lumatek still being there.

I had the hut open and had clothes hanging in it.

All the stems just look a pile of twigs to me, but not sure what they look like to normal people.

The ballast does look like a car amplifier I guess if someone didn't know what a purple lumatek looked like I'm just not sure.

The main thing I'm worried about is them coming and stealing all my equipment, I'm a medical grower so I just can't afford for all my equipment to be stolen by the police if they come.

Medical grower in a hostile county?

Or growing for medical purposes in a state that does not have medical exceptions?

You mean you are legal, but in a conservative area? If you are in Cali or Colorado you fine. The cops don't have to like it, so long as you follow the law.

Is your operation legal or not?

The answer to that question should make your next move obvious.

the cops train the utility people to beaware of drugs and drug paraphenalia as well as
grow ops in todays world of snitchy-snitch bullshit.
Dont trust that the utility guy will be a dumb ass or silent....first rule: if anyone besides
yourself knows you grow(or suspects) then out with the grow.
Be safe first...a new grow is easy to do....hard time on the inside is not so easy.
just sayin.....

Not much to add that hasn't already been said. But I'll post a recent experience like this:

I just had a backhoe operator come over and do some dirt moving for me. So I'm thinking how good it would be to pay him in weed, since I have plenty, but thats as far as the thought gets.

So he comes back to finish on the following monday and mentions that he's a part time city cop.

I paid him in cash, and will never call him back to work. :)

id break it down. He saw too much. That's a real bummer. I wouldn't be able to keep going and feel safe having some random stranger possibly knowing what I'm doing.

Yes, I'm legal CA215 but was told that where I'm at is very conservative and doesn't even allow dispensaries.

The op is 100% legal, so I'm not worried about jail time, what I am worried about is the setback that will happen if they come take all my equipment/mothers and make me wait to get it all back etc.

That being said thanks everyone for the advice.

The IE is not that bad. They are not Gung Ho to get you. You have nothing going but mothers? Don't tear it down. Show your rec & you are good if it even comes up. I live just outside of Lake Elsinore.

If your legal AND get caught, RAISE HELL. Call america for safe access and the like and get some support, you should win hands down if your within limits etc and followed the guidelines to the T

I swear I feel like a criminal and I'm 100% legal, my buddies up north don't even hide anything. Makes me wish I could pack up and move :(

But yes, my biggest fear isn't beating the case, I know that hands down it would get thrown out of court or whatever, it's the fact I would lose all my equipment meds and TIME.

Again, thanks everyone.

asa will chew them a new bung whole, and a utility guy is under insurance so any loss or damages are on his company. stay legal , and nothing will happen

My understanding is that the police have to maintain the plants until they are determined to be legal or not, and of course you'd get your equipment back.

Thing is, if the utility guy knows what an empty hydro hut and a ballast look like, he's growing himself :biglaugh:

Been there, the um...let's say Riverside, to Temecula, and I was quote, 'LEGAL", never had any issues, personally myself...
That said, if I were you, I would already have it torn down, and would not have taken the time to post.
2 reasons:
1. It's just my nature, and I came from a very bad place, more than 5 plants = Felony. Cops would get a hardon for any piddly ass grow period.
2. Even if the cops come, "raid" your house, and tell you, "prove it in court" that's not something you want to have to do if you don't have to. It will be a major fuck fuck fuckity fuck fuck for you it's not worth the hassle IMHO.
Even if you get your case dismissed, you still had to go through that process, do not assume that the cops won't harass you regardless of the fact you are "legal", it can and does happen in the IE. I personally watched LEO of a certain city be al "gung ho" over pot, as well as heard many many 2nd hand accounts, of cops there in Riverside County being all "gung ho" to a certain extent w/ prop 215 legal people.

I would not be fucking w/ it, if it sets you back a year, then so be it, at least you get to spend that year on the outside w/ your family, doing what you want when you want, being around people you like, eating food you like. With the only "inconvenience" being that you can't grow. The whole time you could be saving money, as opposed to not being able to grow because of legal issues and spending your money on that shit, pleus other issues that would go along w/ that, job, etc...

Be smarter next time too.
We all make mistakes, just fix it, and learn from it, in this case it's just a self discipline thing, you need to keep shit clean, and not let fucks in, you know?

What was your utility guy doing in your house to begin with... I honestly can't see a reason why he would need to walk around you place. Garage yes but the rest of the house? What was the issue?
