Being compliant in Butte County

So I just purchased some land in Butte County. Now before all the locals jump down my throat, I'm not some gold rusher coming to spoil your scene. In fact I've lived in Butte County in the past, I did my (ahem, 3) years at Butte College. However a few years back I had to chase work down in Sac.

Anyway... I'd like to hear from you guys what I can get away with in terms of scripts per parcel. Also, my land is listed as 2 parcels on the appraiser's map, but only sold as one. Think I can get away with running a garden on each parcel?

Please let me know what your most informed opinion is, as well as what you think I can get away with based on busts you've heard about.

Edit: Also I'd like to hear where you guys get your soil and amendments. I have a really cheap source in the city, but if possible I'd like to buy locally and avoid transporting it up to Butte.

I really dont like that county, and my friend is facing jail time for growin within his limits, but having too much dry weight. The Butte County Marijuana Supression Unit is who you need to worry about. They come to your place and record your conversation, with the intent of asking questions to make you admit you have done something illegal. Then they come back with warrents. I rented a spot in butte county, and after a nagging feeling of worry wouldnt subside, I left my deposit and told the owner I had a change in plans. Good Luck tho, and a few successful growers here are from Butte county and may have a different take on it.

For sure, I went into the deal knowing I would likely have contact with the BCSO and/or Special Enforcement Unit. I'd like to do what I need to make sure I'm operating within their limits. Or at least what they see anyway. :p

I've spoken to a few growers in the area who say you can get away with 8 scripts on a parcel, but they're more the pothead type than the litigious type. I've tried making several calls to the SEU telephone number to ask them directly, but I only ever get a machine, with a full mailbox. Big suprise.

If I can get away with 8 scripts on the first parcel and 8 scripts on the second parcel, this will still put me at 96 and under federal limits. This will be more than enough for myself and those in my collective if things go as expected.

Anxiously awaiting to hear from the rest of you...

Butte county sheriff say they would like to see 5 scripts per address and only one of those can be out of county. I have friends in the robinson mills area and we tried a collective grow. It came through sucessfully but not without its hassles. I didn't know about the 1 out of county script until we chopped some plants to get into 'compliance' with the county (12/6 even though all scripts were for higher counts).

Thank you very much for the info. Another question, do they mean 6 budding plants OR 12 vegging plants, or do they mean 6 budding AND 12 vegging. If so I'll probably try to pop an early light dep crop. Do you hear about those getting more attention because they're more visible from the sky (and easy fund-raising?)

Thank you acire100, I understand the good 'ol boy networks. I've tapped into what I can for info, but I always appreciate more, which is why I'm asking here. Of course due to my age there are going to be some people who resent what I'm trying to do, but I am just trying to make a living like everyone else. If I were only trying to support myself, I wouldn't be pushing the limits quite so hard, but as it stands I've got a lot of mouths to feed; my gf, my friends who will be helping out there, my younger brother, my father. Anything left over will go into building a home on the land so I can start a family of my own. I moved around a lot as a child which had both positive and negative effects. However I promised myself I wouldn't bring any children into this world until I owned a home and the land on which it sits, outright. Hopefully some people respect the amount of hard work I will be putting in and way I'll be doing it.

So just an update, after a ton of tractor work and the grunt work to go along with it, I have the property up and going. I buried nearly 4000ft of conduit into the ground for water and power, running extra lines for nutrient mix delivery. I leveled out several areas for gardens, dug a ton of holes (mostly with the hoe, some by hand where it couldn't reach) and filled them with dirt. Got a good deal on edna's best bagged soil, so I got about 1000 cubic feet of that. Still well under 99 plants, and things are looking good. I was a bit late to get into the ground, but it couldn't be helped. Got a lot of stuff thats over 5 feet already though, so no complaints.

Wish me luck.

no prob, I'll snap some when I'm back out there on monday. Taking the weekend off. And by that I mean working on all my other projects, lol.
