I get days up to 105 as well, dry dry santa annas. I dont think you need to get to specific in strain choice for heat. Afghanis do well in 100+ degree temps naturally and they are indica, and as well i imagine african sativas deal with the same thing...
In other words, Grow what you want... In my opinion.
As long as you supply enough fresh water those temps can be tolerated by cannabis. What does occur is the line between over and under water becomes extremely thin...you really need to be on point to grow high grade outdoors in high heat conditions
I live down in the Coachella Valley and we normally get Temps above 110 to 115 and above. I have grown great crops down here the trick is to water in the evening and never in the morning. It sounds crazy but I learned that the plants will burn if you let them get wet in the strongest sun of the day ,it is much better to let them get a through soaking each evening.
