BC bloom box

hello, new member so i am a little confusied with this web site. i just wanted to now if any one has any information on the BC bloom box. i am thinkin about getting one. wanted to get some details on it before i do so. are they worth the money? is there a better option? will they last? are they safe?

building one yourself is always the better, the wisest, the cheaper and the most suitable option.
you could build one yourself or buy a closet and modify it. the site has how to instruction on how to set up or build some of your equipment and the people here are more than happy to help you with your growing informational needs. you just have to ask. that's all.

thanks for the reply. i have been thinking about that option also but not real good with building things. which would be cheaper on electric a grow box runnig through one power cord or multiple ones from each appliance you put in your box, or does it even matter?

Hi there, I have a BC Bloom box, with Co2 and hydro. Plus it can with a supply of AN nutes. It didt come with a Ph or TDS meter so you'll want to pick those up. If you look around you can find them pretty cheap.I did add bigger air pumps and larger air stones in both veg and bloom trays. Its seems to work pretty good. But what I know now, I think I might build my own. Im not really one who like to build shit so thats why I bought the bloom box. It is the best for a turnkey set up . You wont be disapointed.

thanks for the info. does the bloom box use alot of electricty. live with parents, they wouldnt be happy gettting a expencive elect. bill.

are you trying to hide this from your parents? If so I would reccomend not growing until you are out of their house, or if you can get permission from them. If the pigs come to the house to bust your grow it will be your parents' asses as well. Just my 2cents.

thats good your parents r cool!!!
if i were you i would do the "cool" thing and not grow in their house!!
the BS they would go thru wouldnt be worth the risk,(worst case)
the only option i would advise you to grow in their home is if u live in a state that has medical MJ laws and u and ur parents have cards and then only grow an amount that would be reasonable for ur usage.
perhaps u have friend or some other place to setup ur show!!

the bloom boxes r real nice but everthing BC sells is priced outa sight!!!IMHO
they want 500 bux for a metal box with shelves and a mini carbon scrubber/fan "the dryer" they call it. its worth at most 200 bux!!!!

u can buy a minifridge/freezer for less than that thing.

ok, lets not turn this into a thread about morals and shit.... the guy wants to know what's up with the BC box...... not weather or not he should grow at the parents home....

anyway....

Personally i used to grow in a cab, it worked well.... if i could have afforded it i would have bought the BC box, but i could not. it's like 3500 bucks i think....

what i used was a Mills Pride C22 from Home Depot.... it's a kit that you bring home and put together , a big 7ft tall cab, 4ft wide and almost 2 ft deep..... the C22 will cost about 100$ give or take a $20.

I put a 400w HPS in my cab, Looking back on things, if i was to try it again, i would run a 600w HPS, or 2 400w HPS's. I would have bought a 400ish CFM INLINE fan and i would try to find a couple nice air cooled hoods that would fit in the cab with 6inch vent flanges. i would run said fan through ONLY my lights , so it would bring air from outside the cab through my lights and right back out the cab.

on top of the cab i would mount a 180ish cfm squirl cage fan (cause they're cheaper) to blow the warm air out of the cab through a carbon filter either sitting outside of the box , or thoughtfully mounted inside the cab, up towards the ceiling.

i would also mount a small 10 inch oscillating fan in one of the upper corners of the cab to produce some air movement.

i would also cut 4 2 inch holes in the back of the cab, using 2 inch black PVC 90 degree elbows to lightproof said holes.

as far as the growing system i would use.... well..... i think i would try to find an ebb/flow table that would fit in your cab, that way you could pack a nice SOG garden in there instead of trying to grow big trees in a cab, which would work if you have enough light, but i think you would find the best results using some type of a SOG garden, weather it be in soil or hydro.... tho it soundlsike you are interested in hydro since the BC box is some type of DWC setup i think.....

a 400w light is something like 30 bucks to use over 2 or 3 months, there really wont be a huge jump in power.... and if the parents are cool with you doin this, i would assume they'll be smokin the bud anyway.... that alone would pay for the bills.....

but i mean you could always just toss em a few bucks every month or 2 for electric..... you wont see a huge jump in the electric until you start running multiple 1000 watters imo.

you can pull some decent weight out of a cab like this if you do things proper and dial shit in..... a gram a watt is easy to produce in a small area when the light is so intense.... given you are using a decent producer for a strain.

in otherwords i would not be surprised to see 1lb+ commin out of that cab ..... should be no problem payin electric with that!

thanks for all the nice replys. i am very happy with becoming a member of this site. most the people i've talked to so far are pretty nice. i was still kind of wandering if you can use soil in the bloom box. i would thinks you could i dont know why not but u never know. i like to soil and all organics.

i'm sure you could set it up for soemthing like that , but i think the basic system is designed for hydro.... if you just gonna use soil and all that i think it would definatly be a better idea to just build your own from a cabinet kit like i mentioned above, save yourself a few thousand bucks mang.

i've been looking at the producer for awhile now. with 2 430 watt HPS it looks like it should yield well. any opinions?
