Bayer announced it is taking over Monsanto for over 66 billion dollars. Yes over 66 billion. There must be money in GMO. That sounds like an unholy alliance. Big Pharma with GMO and Roundup. I imagine they will lobby against growing. What do you guys think?

Satan comes in many forms, they are trying to get the heat off of the name. Many people think of monsanto first, no one really puts two and two together and looks at the big picture, DOW chemical and Bayer are just as evil as monsanto. I don't think many people a even know that Bayer is pretty active in agriculture

Monsanto has been taking quite the beating in the media and around the world in the last year. Humans have a short attention span, this will get many people off of their case and they will continue of their tear of death and destruction.

The deal values Monsanto stock at $128. It’s currently trading at $106 - $107 probably due to the markets and investors concern about the deal being approved by regulators. Consolidation, it’s a trend. In this case a big fish being swallowed by a bigger fish.

Bayer is the second largest pesticide producer after Syngenta.

They have 206 patents on genetically modified plants, Pioneer has 179, BASF has 144 and Monsanto has 119.

Bayer even has eucalyptus trees and pine trees that are gmo along with tomatoes and grapes.

Pray for nature and bees. This wasn't good to begin with and it just got worse. Hopefully the Germans will get with the program. Ugg

Monsanto tried to gobble up Syngenta but were rebuked. A few weeks ago regulators approved the purchase of Syngenta by China National Chemical Corp. This put pressure on Monsanto to accept the Bayer deal. It’s kind of scary how these big boys operate, not just with what they do but how they do business.

Oh dear, this is a step towards GMO cannabis... Monsanto has had discrete access to cannabis research for years via Bayer, gwpharma & hortapharm but this pretty much concretes the future for good.

everyone needs to start their own LARGE seed stash right now and I don't mean just weed. Poppies, vegetables, fruits, weed ect ect. poppy and weed are natural medicine and everyone needs fruits and veggies.

I envision a world where all these GMO idiots are plotting to kill the honey bee so the people can't even grow their own food (or medicine)without turning to big farma (pharma and farms together)
there are people that sick in the head in this world.

as for weed.... with GMO , this enables set potency parameters for governments looking to legalize to offer up to the masses as the "legal" weed. Growers will be restricted to buying plant stock that will be tagged from the licensed producer. Anyone caught with plants not tagged from the licensed producer will get the full weight of the law and opens the door for lawsuits from the GMO corporate. Much like they are doing to the canola farmers who's non GMO affects GMO crops next door.
We saw this coming well over a decade ago.
Yup, their will be a legal cannabis market but it will be strictly controlled, taxed and regulated with 1000's of new enforcement and political advisory jobs sucking off the tax payers teats.
makes me sick really and just makes me want to be an outlaw, plain and simple

if honeybees die out, so will a huge % of the humans on earth. there is nothing in the way of seeds sold that will replace bees pollinating food crops. yes, certain plants self pollinate, a few get by with wind drift of pollen, but nowhere near enough to feed the folks alive today.

I'm on it TT as well being a Full Patched Seed Whore and all. :tiphat:

I'll try not to mess up my poppies next year. Still have some seeds. (Tasmanian)

I also think they have a plan for the honey bees. Wind pollinated plants like corn and cannabis won't be harmed
by bee collapses. But it will help the elite control the masses much easier. I have 2 Heirloom Northern Rye varieties
from a European Seedbank and I got 2 Heirloom Barley seeds also. One Barley type comes from India and the other
from Japan. (suckie suckie)

I have some nice watermelon seeds that can ripen in Canada as well. Got to grow some again. Very sweet stuff.

Just have to get some heirloom wheat, white corn, etc, etc. this fall.

I even planted some American and Chinese Ginseng in a local forest 3 years ago. I wonder if they lived?

i'm not only a cannabis seed whore I also keep all types of veggies, herbs and poppy lines. I have been doing this for years. these people are out of control! their trying to buy up and patent all seed stock so they can control it. but in the mean time their destroying life. what the hell is there end goal??? there will be nothing left for us or them.

Want to hear something funny?.... Well not really.. Anyway at Monsanto's headquarters they have a cafeteria for their employees and they don't serve the very gmo's that they produce. They only sell organic or heirloom veggies. I would say that proves that they are well aware of the dangers of gmo's that their producing and all of them should be thrown in jail just for that. never mind the countless farms and families they have destroyed.

Hey Monsanto's!....... F&CK YOU!!!:moon:
PS. F&CK bayer too!

peace!

I heard that years ago too.

A lot of them have been brainwashed into thinking the world needs gmos to feed people which is complete bullshit. Like they're saving the world...the total opposite of what they're doing

Good observation, the current (low) trading price indicates that investors believe this deal won't be approved. Agreed these monsters are scary but this deal is far from done. No matter how big they get they can't come and take all of our collections. Just ain't gonna happen.
