Battle of the Borg

I never wanted my second post to be here, but I have a serious problem I need the collective help to combat. I basically have two rooms and run a perpetual so to speak. My flowers are almost finished, maybe 1 week to go and have a medium to high infestation of spidermites, but I think they will fair well with only 1 week to go. I have in my veg room some moms, clones and seed starts. Currently only see them on the moms, but I assume everything is infected. I think I am in a good position to attack these buggers. I need to totally get rid of em in my flower room, and soon as its vacant. What would everyone suggest? A bomb of some sort since no plants r in there? Then the plants in my veg room need to be cleaned, I want to try the malt viniger method :nono: I mean the cider vinigor method to treat the veged plants. Since there is more then just a few, and they are rather large...could I possibily dip them in a large bucket or something to get total coverage. I could be totally off but I tried one of those pryth bombs today and the little suckers are still moving around. WTF? I was told at the shop it would work :pointlaug Any way I am open to all suggestions and support to rid my rooms of these mo fo. SmokeAnother

If you want to be serious, hit them with heavy bomb of pyrethrins every 3 day for 2+ weeks. If you want to be more serious, like REALLY serious, get some avid or floramite, and hit them every 5 days. Not your plants in flower BTW, but after you cull the fruits. Eiher that, or just kill your veg plants, and use disenfectants

Avid and Floramite are the serious way to kill mite infestations, but you may want to get a pool going, as that shit is expensive

Id also recommend you give up a few bucks at the local hydro store and pickup some ladybugs. If you're running a perpetual grow, these little buggers can really help keep infestations down as they just gobble em all up!

The bombs are not going to work and will eventually burn the hell out your plants...

1Toke(member here)has a killer recipe for eradication of those little basturds!

Also the same with Pest Strips...The basturds build up an immunity and they stop working effectively...

You are going to have to try the homemade remedy to kill the mites on the plants.....The empty room can be treated with chemicals if you choose...

No pest strips, there not paper strips, they look like a glade air freshener.

its all i use, and for me they kill um overnight. then again i havent had mites in sometime now.

Hola Capt, you may not be puttin enough of um in the grow, cause they dont get a chance to build up anything here, there dead in a flowerin cycle.

since beginnin to grow, ive tried bombs, homemade stuff and the strips work the best. your not sprayin and makin a mess for days on end. one treatment and your back to enjoyin your plants.

Funny thing about paying for something you can't teach to stick around, they leave or get sucked out the ventilation. Been there, done that.

Mites become immune to chemicals. Bombs and chemicals are drastic and expensive, and all pose some level of health threat to either anyone living around your grow or your pets. Do you really want to risk inhaling or working around chemicals and bombs?

Mites have no defense immunity against natural miticides. Capt. Crip mentioned the Mite Eradicator recipe found here.

I've just noticed the uninvited borgs hitched a ride in on clone gifts, and have started my second eradication, I was mite and pest free since the last attack Thanksgiving 2005. Follow the link and my progress at the latest posts in the thread, will be posting pics of the damage done to the borg carcasses. The Mite Eradicator thread was created for feedback and information.

Seasider over on OregonFree (they locked down the site or moved the original posts) researched heavily with BankRobber and others along the west coast mite and PM breeding grounds and made some valid arguments for this recipe. It works for me and won't do anything to disrupt my perpetual.

Good luck in your Battle of the Borgs.

CBF,
Hows it going bro??

The strips have always wiped em' out in a day or 2 for me but the last mites that came in on some clones were completely immune...I even hung 2 on the plant itself and they wouldn't die...

I ended up getting rid of most with safer soap(it works well also)..
Just can't use this stuff on flowering plants...

I guess those little basturds were on roids or something:) :yoinks:

Great ideas here, I will be making the "mite eradicator" tonight. I am all done with predator bugs, I dont believe they work. I spent over 200 for predator mites...not only did they not work, they ruined my crop cuz the dang corn meal stuck to all my bud...total loss and months time wasted. So for the empty room, whats the best way to make sure they dont reemerge once I put plants in there? I always bleach wash almost everything, but I heard the buggers live in the cracks. Maybe this is where I can use a bomb or some sort...any suggestions of what kind to use. I am afraid the no pest strips wont work, one room is iin close living quarters and I have pets and heard the stuff is not too good for your health. Bombs on the other hand I can use then air out the room/wash surfaces ect. Ugg I hate this, such a little insect to be such a pain in the ass. Thanks all!!

Tried the mite eradicator, after 24 hours I saw a few creeping mo fo's still. Looked like alot of maybe dried up eggs, so thats a good sign. I waited another day, and just gave em a healthy eco neem soap application. Next I will be trying something called MC Mite, then a dosing of organicide. I think the best is to mix it up, and will try the mite eradicator after the other two giving like a day or 2 in between. I believe these suckers have an immunity to alot. There is alot of gardens and a huge golf course in the vicinty so I imagine alot of traditional sprays have been used. There should be a law against creating "Super Bugs". you almost wonder if "someone" is behind this. :fsu: Anyway, They feel the heat and will die in their tracks.
